Cannabis is the most common recreational drug and can be consumed in several ways. Classified as a Class B drug in the UK, it is still illegal there but people have different perspectives when it comes to consuming marijuana. Many police officials turn a blind eye to personal users and weed consumption has grown in the UK in the past few years.
While it’s a question of debate whether it should be legalized, weed remains the top favorite among its users and people are always up for new ways of consuming this drug. Marijuana also has different types of strains available, some of which are expensive like the Cali weed UK, and people want to try out different ways of consuming their favorite recreational drug.
Keeping that in mind, here, we have rounded up five of the popular ways in which weed or marijuana can be consumed. Go through them and find out for yourself.
Smoking
Smoking remains one of the most popular ways of cannabis consumption. It can be because it is an established and old method and the availability of devices and accessories. However, smoking too can be done in dozens of different ways.
For personal use, you can simply roll a joint with rolling papers, hit a bong, or may even use a bubbler. For more social surroundings, you can use a hookah for smoking weed. You can even use a hand pipe for a quick smoke. Some people even try their own methods and create disposables for themselves for a one-time smoke out of household items.
Smoking is preferred by most users as it’s pretty convenient and offers the quickest onset of effects.
Edibles
Cannabis edibles too are one of the oldest methods of consuming it and can provide some of the most psychoactive, intense, and long-lasting effects. Cannabis-infused edibles include candies, sodas, teas, and baked goads among others. Most of these are prepared with about 5-10 milligrams of THC per dose. However, with edibles, the onset of effects can be delayed.
The delaying effect is due to the fact that your digestive system processes cannabis slowly and sometimes can take up to 2 hours to show the effects. But edibles have a much more profound psychoactive effect because once THC enters our livers it forms 11-hydroxy-THC, a more potent chemical, resulting in an extremely powerful high.
Just keep in mind that with edibles, it is easy to consume a lot and can sometimes cause an accidental overdose. So, try to keep the dose limited and do not consume it with alcohol.
Tinctures
Tinctures are liquid cannabis extracts and can be directly consumed by drops. If you are looking to cut down on your marijuana usage and avoid the harmful effects of smoking, using tinctures can be a good idea. With tinctures, the cannabinoids are quickly absorbed in the body and thus the onset of effects is fairly quick.
Moreover, tinctures allow users to add it to any food or beverage, so you get the flexibility there. However, with edibles, the liver needs time to process it and the effects wouldn’t be immediate.
Topical
The topical use of marijuana in the form of balms, sprays, and ointments are mainly used for localized relief. Topical use will not get you the high as there will be no cerebral stimulation.
Cannabis topicals are made from its extracts and oils and are decarboxylated. You can directly apply these balms and ointments on your skin for various types of ailments.
Vaporizers
Using vaporizers or vaping is an alternative to smoking where the cannabis is slowly heated to release enough cannabinoids and then the smoke is inhaled. However, unlike smoking, cannabis is not heated enough for combustion and thus it reduces the inhalation of the other harmful chemicals.
There are several types of vaping devices available to choose from. Right from tabletop devices to hand-held vape pens, there are a lot of options available. Vaporizers come with the same effects and convenience as of smoking, at the same time limiting the exposure to toxins and chemicals.
These are the top five ways you can consume cannabis. Regardless of the method you choose, if you are a new user, remember to start with a low dosage. Cannabis is one of the favorite recreational drugs among many and you should not allow the first experience to be catastrophic. So, consume a low amount and allow the drug to take effect. You can always dose up if that’s needed.
