Picking the Ideal Ground Transportation

Aren’t airplane trips infuriating? You may say that it would depend on the situation. Ok, let me paint the situation. For almost a day of airline traveling, uncomfortably seated---actually you’re in a virtually standing position---beside a person who drives you crazy with his boisterous attitude and his small bladder capacity. Wouldn’t you want to have a better, a more comfy ground transportation? Probably a taxi cab handled by a professional driver who knows the ins and outs of the airport and State that you’re in.

There are a lot of limousine and taxi companies offering transportation including pick up and drop off services and airport transfers, too. Most of them thrive in catering special events from prom nights to wedding bells and everything in between. However, out of the hundreds of establishments that provide us with luxury cars and airport taxis, how would an individual distinguish one from the other? That’s where my article comes in. Here I’ll strive to help you find that ideal vehicle, be it a high-class limousine in New York or a taxi California residents and visitors will certainly opt for.

Initially, one must first canvass. Do a little comparison and contrast regarding the packages they offer, the rate of their services, the model and condition of their fleet, so on and so forth. Personally, I also inquire about the company’s background. How long have they been in the business? Do they have endorsements from organizations like the BBB? Are their drivers experienced enough to know their way around New York or California, or the State where they provide limo or taxicab service? There is nothing worst than running late and being stuck in a vehicle with a driver who doesn’t know any alternative route. The first question will help you gauge the stability of the company. Remember that no business will last that long if they don’t supply the public with premium service. The BBB, or the Better Business Bureau will help you find trustworthy establishments who passed the level of accreditation as set by said organization. I almost forgot about the LBI, or licensed, bonded and insured. I reckon that every business must be licensed, bonded and fully insured. When the inevitable happens, an accident perhaps, you have your back covered. And the company will shoulder the damage made to your property or to you as a person. As for the specs of your travel, note everything that you want in the vehicle like bottled water or the day’s newspaper or a booster seat for your child. Mention all of these to your prospect car service provider. If they can’t give you the service you want, go on to the next limo or taxi cab company.

Ask the company regarding their packages, complimentary items and hidden charges. (Is the price they quoted inclusive of the driver’s gratuity or tip?) Know how to haggle. You might get the service in a discounted price. Speaking of prices, it would really depend on the event. For airport transfer, most offer flat rate because of the fixed distance between the two terminals. But for other events like prom or homecoming, these are priced differently. For the first 6 hours the rate is preset but every hour exceeding the same, additional fee will be charged.

These are a few of the points to consider before rushing to your nearest limo or taxicab company.
