Creating product descriptions for eBay that really SELL your product is one of the easiest ways you can bring TONS of shoppers to your auctions AND easily out-earn your competition!
Your product description should give ALL the details of your product that bidders need to know. The more detailed and clear you are with your description, the more your bidders will trust you, and the more likely they'll be to bid on your auction!
Highlight the benefits of your product!
When most people write their eBay auction, they focus on their product's features; its size, its color, etc.
What they often don't do is express its benefits. What is it about your product that can improve its owner's life? Will it help them save money? Spend less time on tedious household chores? Get more done in less time?
When you describe your product, make sure you answer the question, 'what's in it for me?'
Set your product apart from your competition. Make sure shoppers know your product is the "most" something out of all of the similar products. The newest, cleanest, brightest, fastest, cheapest, quickest to ship, or easiest to use. Pricing and shipping!
Make sure that you describe exactly how you want to be paid for your item, and explain how you plan to ship it. Put this information prominently in the listing description... in at least two places!
You Have to Write a Good Listing Title!
The listing's title is what appears on eBay's search results page when someone searches eBay using a specific keyword or keywords. When writing your title, avoid flowery or attention-seeking words that having nothing to do with the product.
Instead, make sure you're including relevant keywords that relate directly to the product:like type, brand name, color or style, condition, etc.
Think like a buyer. What words would YOU use to look for this product? Put as many of them into your title as you can... even common misspellings!
Over 80% of eBay buyers use the search box to find their listings! That means that if you have the wrong keywords in the title your listings will never be found.
Now, what your competitors do not know is that it is very important to drill into the exact keyword phrases that people will be searching for on eBay!
Doing this is like finding a gold mine of opportunities that your competition doesn't know about.
Let's say for example that you are going for the keyword phrase "play drums."
Well, there are lots of possible combinations, and what listings eBay features for the keyword phrase "learn to play drums" and "how to play drums" are completely different!
eBay's search engine is very exact and unless you have a listing for all the combinations you might be missing out on most buyers.
So, brainstorm and come up with the best possible keyword phrases. It will pay off handsomely on eBay.
For example, if you identify a phrase such as "play drums," keep brainstorming until you have a list like this:
·learn to play drums
·learn how to play a drums
·play drums dvd
·learn how to play the drums
·playing the drums
·learn to play the drums
·learn play drums
·how to play drums
While most people might enter a phrase such as "learn to play drums" remember the power of the long-tail.
On eBay, it does not matter whether you go with 'drum lesson' or 'drum lessons.' eBay shows the same search results regardless of whether you use the plural or singular keyword phrase in the title.
Find the good keywords by studying what other sellers are already using. You will notice most sellers come up with a few good combinations and repeat them. But very few come up with keywords to capture the less common searches, which will allow you to move past your competition.
The key is to provide as much information as possible and to invest the extra time to make sure that all of your listings are complete. So, specify the exact shipping and handling fees, the type of payments you accept, and whether you offer a guarantee in each of your listings.
It will help you close more sales.
