Do Your Business Decisions Aide & Support Your Personal Truths?

We give ourselves foods, shelter and the rest but how many of us haven’t given ourselves the dignity to pursue the career path and build the business our dreams?
A few years ago I was thriving financially in corporate America. I was working at a very lack luster job as a financial director for a luxury car dealership. I consciously began asking people what they do for a living just to hear the WAY they responded. I began to tune into a repetitive pattern. I’d usually begin our encounter by acknowledging what they did for a living, to which they would generally and proudly reply. Then I would follow up by asking if they enjoyed their line of work. Miraculously almost every one of them offered a less then positive response. At first I was a little shocked, for theses people had well paying and dignified careers, so why weren’t they enjoying them?
In our conversations about my customers word, I’d often hear the “but” or “however” at the end of the sentence. I am a lawyer, ‘’but’’ I really wish I were a dancer. I am an investment banker, ‘’but’’ I would like to be a published author. I am one of the board members of the 99 Cents Stores, “however” going into my office has become a pain in the ass.. Sound familiar? It was all too familiar to me. This finally made me take notice of my own situation and realize that just because we have the income, or the sports car or the carte blanche corporate credit card, it doesn’t necessarily mean we are happy and if we are not happy why are we doing it? Money? Prestige? What seemed obvious and clear to me was that many of us had material things ‘’but’’ they didn’t bring me or most of my clients happiness. So if not the money from the high paying jobs then what? This is when I realized that a alchemical paradigm had to shift if I or most of those I had come into contact with were going to be not just successful, ‘’but’’ happy too.
What came as more of a shock was when I began to ask people if they weren’t an investment banker, or a board member of the 99 Cents Stores or a lawyer what would they be doing. Shockingly, many of them had no answer at all. What I began to hear in this silence was fear, fear to even begin the process of exploring what they may be doing if they were not just surviving. This is when I knew that I had to figure it out for myself so that I could then transcend my experiences to assist others with the process.
Shortly after I left my job, my new found friend, healer and psychic coach Pheonix Jae Sun said “If we take our personal beliefs and our limited experiences out of the mix when making a choice then we are 100% dependent on spirit guiding us to pursue our path of highest truth and desire”. With this concert as my mission statement if you would, I began to pursue my own business and career path.
Now when I work with clients who are beginning to transform what they were doing now at their job to making a joyful career by doing what is in their calling here are a the first five general tools that we use:
• Acknowledge all the success that you have created thus far in your life. Some people like to make lists; others may choose to do this verbally in the shower or during a walk.
• Go Inside and recall a time when you felt most alive and at one with the outer world and you inner world simultaneously. What did it smell like? What did it look like? Who was with you? Make mental of that feeling. Now ask yourself is my current job or profession supporting this feeling?
• Be Honest No Matter What. I am affirmations and positive visualizations are great when we truly believe in their essence, however many of us spend a lot of time acting “as if”. Hoping and wishing instead of believing and knowing. I have found only by acknowledging all thoughts, and all feelings can we unlock the key to our dream career. Before we can consciously choose what we are going to pursue, we must address what may be directly influencing our decisions. One of the quickest ways to attain what is in our highest spiritual path is to give ourselves the dignity to feel everything without judgment. If you haven’t had the experience to do this, an easy and safe way is to think about something that is neutral to you like a chair or towel or toothbrush. This can be anything that you don’t have a negative or a positive association with…something that simply is. Now that you tap into the feeling of neutrality associated with the thought of this object, when those killjoy voices pop into your head and try to put a lid on your passions or ideas, you can flashback to that neutral object and knowingness of what it is like to feel something neutrally. If you give all thoughts and suggestions the same dignity you are likely to gain perspective and clarity on your true feelings, passions and dreams. Knowing what you truly feel is as important as knowing what you want and knowing the difference from what we think or were programmed to want instead what we really want is the key to career success. This is why I find this process so vital as a processor to the “I am” affirmations and positive visualizations, for it allows us to spot the blocks or fears with out judgment or brow beating ourselves that may be preventing us from activating the career of our dreams.
• Send White Light. Once we have recognized our blocks, it is vital send light to the parts that are scared and in the dark. A simple yet focused prayer is to say “Spirit teach me how to do this business I am being called to do. Today I have blocks that prevent me from knowing and hearing how I should move forward with my business. Please grant me the clarity of mind and the freedom of imagination for me to purse my dreams and passions”. After this prayer, sit or lye in a quite space and FEEL where the block is. Is it in your heart? Your throat? Your stomach? Your mind? Where ever this block appears treat it as if it were a little child that just fell of its tricycle. Pick it up, tell it that it is going to be okay and safe, acknowledge the fear and horror it may be feeling, then send it all the light. If light can melt blocks of ice the same light can melt our blocks of fear…
• Fire the Committee of Judgment and Doubt. Seriously. Sit down and write a letter to the board of directors in your head that often start their business meetings with “I should”, “I wish I could” and “That will never happen for me”. To give you first hand information into this process, I am going to share with you the letter I wrote to my committee on March 10, 2002 when I left my six digit income job to pursue my own spiritually driven business.
Dear Committee-
I am very unhappy with the suggestions and demands that you have made regards to and about my career. Your services of keeping me in fear by trying to keep me safe, and in constant self doubt are no longer needed. I do not believe or desire to believe the suggestions that you have put forth or your opinions of my career from this point forward. As of today, March 10, 2002, you are no longer employed at my company.
Sincerely-
Aime McCrory
Only we know our truth. What do you want to give the world? Teach your children? Spend your days doing or being? If you are not doing this now or doing something to move yourself toward doing it daily, our jobs can be like spending our days being buried alive.
As a Business Muse I would question if how you are thinking and what you are doing is truly serving the business goals that you claim to want. If not, my first question would be, is this career choice your want or what you keep telling yourself to want? Our worth as a person and as a business is in knowing our truths, living our truths and speaking our truths in all our affairs…so why not begin doing it in your business today for when you are willing to follow your true calling not only will the money come, but it will do so, with the peace and happiness. For it has happened to me and all of those I know and work with who are committed…
