Increasing The Number Of Visitors To A Website

In an Internet business environment, the popularity of any business is gauged by the number of ‘hits’ that refers to the total number of unique visitors who have visited the website. The higher the number of visitors, the higher is the popularity of the website & the higher is the corresponding business potential for the Internet business. This means that increasing the number of visitors directly translates into increased business, which in turn leads to enhanced profitability. In order to increase the profits by enhancing the number of visitors to a website, the following techniques have proven to be very effective:
• Select a unique symbol or logo to differentiate the business & make it stand apart among the competitors in the online space. This goes a long way in creating a favorable & unique image in the minds of the visitors & makes them visit the website again.
• A website can exchange its links to be placed on similar websites on a reciprocal basis. This not only provides choice to the visitor in terms of the variety of similar portals but also converts into grabbing the maximum eyeballs for all the related websites. Apart from the website links, other tools such as classified Ads & pop ups can also be exchanged on a reciprocal basis to direct traffic towards sister sites.
• Most of the first time visitors come looking for the relevant information regarding products or services offered at the website. Availability of informative articles related to the relevant products and services hosted on a website helps the visitors get the desired information & choose from the listed products all at the same time.
• Advertising in the online space is very economical compared to the offline media & print advertisements. A website can effectively advertise itself through other Internet products such as software, ebooks, & subscription site.
• The homepage provides the first impression to the visitor about a company. An annoying banner or flashing ad should not be placed at the top of the home page.
• Make it a point to join an Internet business community. Most of the communities offer memberships to put on a web site address that can provide extra credibility to a business.
• News section helps in driving a lot of repeat traffic to a website. News section can include the upcoming products & general market trends.
• Consultation & advice should be provided free to the website visitors. It leaves a very good impression on the minds of the visitors & provides instant credibility to the website. The free advice or information should include the company logo or symbol thereby also acting as directed advertising in the process.
• Most of the visitors to popular message boards & forums encounter a number of classical problems on common issues. It is likely that they will read past issues looking for solutions. Post comments and suggestion on message boards and forums and include your company symbol or logo at the end of all your postings.
