Creative Writing will facilitate you to develop techniques and skills you need to become an effective writer. Go for these Guidelines to manifest your goal---

Formatting—

  • tarting of the paragraphs, there should be no aligning and the sentence should begin from the left margin.

  • There is supposed to be two line spaces between paragraphs.

  • Words ought to be in italics in the cases of—

  • When expressions in languages is used other than in English

  • When names of, newspapers, magazines, movies, songs, works of art, books etc. are mentioned.

  • When you have to highlight something, as in, Art school.

  • If there is any sub-headings, it must be bold, italicized and left aligned.

  • On the each separate paragraph, there should be a placement of each participant's words which have been discussed in direct speech.

Punctuation—

  • Full stop / Period—

  • Use it when you have to end a sentence.

  • Take care that there is no gap prior to it.

  • Leave one room between it and on the first letter of the subsequent sentence.

  • Do not leave any space behind it, if the sentence doesn’t go instantly after that.

  • Punctuation in direct speech—

In order to entirely enclose the direct speech statements, make use of double quotation marks and also when using the punctuation at the end, be it exclamation mark, question mark, full stop or ellipsis. When it is used in direct speech, make a note that there is no comma after a question/exclamation mark.

  • Quotes--

Whether it is in the middle of the sentence or at the end, all the quotes use to surround the following punctuation mark, whether it is single or double.

  • Capital Letters--

Apply capital letters only in the following cases:

  • When starting a sentence.

  • When beginning the each new line of poetry.

  • When initiating proper nouns and adjectives, derived from them.

  • When all the nouns and pronouns represent a divine being.

In order to produce unbeatable possible story, we should implement these guidelines--

  • Be free as air and articulate the story in your own style as this is your own story.

  • Make use of downbeat words (negative) only if you want to depict the character as untrained. Take care that you capitalize your word when beginning the sentence or using the proper nouns. Besides this, kick out the habit of writing in run-on (extended) sentence.

  • Employing the use of Adjectives makes the story much more enhanced since they are describing words, so put words like- soft, round, fat, tall, smelly, skinny, etc. into practice.

  • Maintain your stories clean and free from pledge words and expressions.

  • Once you have finished off with the writing, go through it and test out that there are no spelling mistakes committed by you.
