The importance of Article marketing cannot be overemphasized. The demand for article has risen in recent year. Because of the explosion of Ezine publishing, there is now a huge demand for ezine articles. Every month, over 100,000 Ezines are sent out to millions of subscribers. The unusual result of search engine has forced webmasters to change the content of their sites frequently.
Apart from media attention, a keyword rich article will increase your search engine rankings. It is also a great way of gaining free media publicity. So if you master this technique, there is a huge market waiting for you. But in spite of the high demand for Articles, there is also a shortage of good Articles. And that is why you see the same articles appearing in dozens of different Ezines, websites, journals, and blogs. Below are some guidelines for writing professional articles.
· Articles should contain high quality and relevant information which would be useful to the reader
· Information should be based on facts after a thorough research
· Articles should be written for the WEB and should make use of proper/meaningful sub-headings and bulleted points wherever necessary
· There should not be any abrupt beginning or ending
· Articles should make use of proper punctuation marks and should not have any grammatical errors
· Abrupt transition from one section to another without any connection should be avoided. A logical and coherent flow must be maintained throughout the article and all information presented must tie in or relate to the subheading under which it appears
· You should have a sentence or two immediately below the subheading that introduces the section so to speak. Never have a bulleted or numbered list appear immediately below a subheading title without the introductory sentence. This is unacceptable
· An article should never end with a bulleted or numbered list. This is completely unacceptable. Instead a short concluding Paragraph that summarizes the entire article or relates back in some way to the introduction needs to be given.
· You should try to maintain a coherent flow. Sections or subheadings should follow one another logically adding meaning to the article and not in a haphazard fashion.
· You may not give external links sources within the article or even at the end. If you choose to, limit the number of links. Making a passing reference to an individual site is acceptable but bunching a group of websites together and inserting them within the article or at the end is not.
· The articles should have lots of powerful and attractive subheadings rather than a patch of text following each other. (Please Note: Powerful subheadings are basically subheading titles that create mixed feelings in the mind of the reader. When he gets these mixed emotions he wants to read more to satisfy them and you’ve achieved your objective. The basic emotions to cater to in a reader are his sense of curiosity and his fear or anxiety of the unknown. If you can incorporate these feelings into your subheadings then you’ve hooked the reader.
I hope the information above will help you to write articles that will result in media publicity. If you follow the information above, your article will not end up among thousands that are never read. As time went by companies may want to hire you to help them write their web content. Who knows whether that will turn out to be another source of income. I wish you success in your article marketing.
