SleepOver Party and Slumber Birthday Party Celebrations
You want to have some friends over for a birthday sleepover party, but you certainly don't want it to be just another birthday party. So, you want to this the slumber party or sleepover party for all to remember! In the past, a sleepover party was known as a slumber party, but whatever the name, great memories are made and good times are shared from these "girls only" get-togethers.
Planning a birthday party can involve a lot of thought and work. As children get older their interests and their ideas of what constitutes a party begin to change. It is quite common nowadays for both boys and girls to have sleepovers and a sleepover party or slumber party could be just the thing for your pre-teens.
A sleepover birthday party is a good way of celebrating the birthday of your pre-teen daughter. Obviously the number of guests at a sleepover slumber party will be limited to the number kids that you can accommodate. On the plus side, this could mean fewer personalized sleepover birthday invitations to order, although you could find yourself kept awake most of the night by the whispering and giggling that young girls indulge in. A slumber birthday party is probably easier to handle if you have some sort of theme in mind. A girl’s sleep over party could include favorite girl band themes where only the music from certain bands is played and kids can watch any available videos related to that band.
If you are considering a sleepover birthday party for pre-teen boys, then the same sort of rules that apply to girls will apply. The number of guests at a slumber party will be limited, which is just as well considering how noisy and boisterous boys can be. Again, a slumber birthday party for boys will be much easier to handle when you take a themed approach. You might decide on a wrestling or football theme for the sleepover party. Boys can watch videos and play computer games related to that particular theme. However, again, you should be prepared to lose some sleep with the boys sleepover party or slumber party.
Young teens also enjoy slumber parties, but they have reached the age when they are more interested in co-ed parties than anything else. If you do decide that your teenager is mature enough for a co-ed sleepover party then the first thing you need to decide is whether this is to be a gender specific co-ed slumber party or whether you think you can accommodate both boys and girls. Careful planning should be done for a co-ed sleepover party or co-ed slumber party. One good idea for co-ed parties is to think back a few years to parties on the beach where kids could dance to the music from a portable record player and feast on hot dogs and coke and all the other things that you try to keep to a minimum the rest of the year.
Whatever theme you have you still have to decide whether your co-ed sleep over party or slumber party is going to be gender specific or include both sexes. For young teens it is probably a good idea to have the early part of the evening for boys and girls but to make the later part gender specific. If you do it this way it is easier on sleeping arrangements. Girls at a co-ed slumber party can have a great time watching a sloppy movie, feasting on popcorn and giggling half the night – it is sure to be great fun for them and not much sleep for you.
Your personalized sleepover party invitations or custom slumber birthday invitations should include your name, date, time, location, RSVP, let your guests know what to bring, such as sleeping bag, pajamas, slippers, stuffed animal, toothbrush, comb and so on.
