The E-300 can take continuous 2.5 fps, 4 frames of RAW and 4 frames of JPEG files. Aside from these, the E-500 can also take unlimited JPEG files using high speed card.

When viewing your pictures, it can be magnified up to 14 times for the E-500 while it can also show up to 10x for the E-300. Aside from this, the play index for the E-300 is from 4, 9 and 16 frames only. In addition to these, the E-500 also has a play index of 25 frames and calendar form. Lastly, the E-500 has compact flash and xD compatible picture card. This means that you can store more pictures on this type compared with the E-300 which only has a compact flash.

Base on the digital camera ratings, the Olympus Evolt E-500 is better compared with the E-300. It has more advance features that will help photographers make their job easier and more convenient.
