Landscaping can be very rewarding when you design the area yourself, or add your own special touch to a professional landscaped yard. Whether you choose a formal or an informal garden, depends on your taste, but adding a garden rooster will bring a smile to any country gardener.
Stepping stones are big among country gardens and can reflect the rooster theme or have a special family memory. Stepping stones made with a child that include those child’s hand prints or foot prints not only adds a memorable item to your garden, but also gives you a great memory of making that special garden decor.
Cast iron pieces and faux wood pieces are popular also. Rooster decor or other items made of cast iron withstand weather well. You may be able to find a special piece that can be used as a family heirloom.
A welcome to my coop sign or the rooster rules the roost sign can establish a dialogue when greeting new guest to your home. Can’t find the sign you want--make it or have it made. Do you have a favorite saying you like to great people with, add it to a rooster sign to personalize your garden.
Love the country life, but only have a small front or back porch. Add decorative planters, such as terra cotta pots or a wooden planter with roosters on them. Want a rooter porch but no plants, add rooster cushions to your seats or rooster place mats and table items.
Country wind chimes are great on porches, as well as in large country gardens. Wind chimes can be small delicate ceramic roosters to large bamboo chimes. Here again, you can go formal or whimsical.
Birdbaths or some other type of water feature is very popular. Just imagine a small pond with a rooster, hen and their chicks in tow heading to get a drink. A rooster yard shadow could be used along a pond amongst some bushes to make the rooster look as if it was hiding.
Landscaping your yard is as personal a decision as decorating your home. Take your time and make yourself happy with your choices. Whether you go formal or whimsical, you need to be comfortable with the outcome. Look through magazines, take pictures, ask questions of experts, visit as many garden centers as you can. You can complete your design quickly or add certain aspects of it on a planned basis. Whatever you choose to do, remember to keep your design balanced and welcoming to the eye.
