Each person is actually the author of their own Success Book whether they write it with intention or not. We all have an internal book of what personally represents success to us. The content of the book is determined by what a person is believing defines success for them. Sometimes people have an idea of what success means and when they achieve their desired outcome they find they feel empty inside. At the end of the day they find themselves still yearning for more, and feel they have not accomplished what they set out to do. Why does this occur? One of the main reasons this happens is because they are using other people's definition of success to define what success means to them. When they are using external factors to define what success means to them rather then taking the time to initially determine what their own definition of success really is, it is empty. They need to take the time to establish and actually write their own Success Book and become truly aware of what their own standards of success are so they can recognize them and enjoy them.
Success is not only a feeling of having arrived, it is an accomplishment of having achieved a goal. It is the inner feeling of being successful, of knowing the best has become yours and a feeling a sense of satisfaction that you have achieved what you set out to do. The real question is how do people know what is best for them. How do they know what will really make them feel successful? To know, it takes sitting down and looking at what being successful really means to you personally.
An excellent way to plug into what success means is to begin to write your own Success Book. Write about what you want to accomplish and how it would feel when you actually accomplished what you desire. Look back at past successes and outline why they met your definition of success. Outline what characteristics define success for you.
Writing your own Success Book provides you with your own internal definition of
success. It provides you with a check list to recognize when things fit and line up with your personal criteria of success. If people do use other people's standards and definitions of success as a guide for their success, it will be difficult to achieve the
satisfaction of real success without first creating and knowing your own personal standard of success.
Once you have determined what your personal criteria is you will begin to more
recognize and acknowledge the things that fit your outline of success. You will recognize what is best for you and what you want to get involved in with more certainty. At the end of the project you work on you will find yourself placing a sold sign on your property. You will know with a certainty that you have achieved what you set out to do both internally and externally. You will have staked your claim with confidence and assurance and know that your achievements line up with your personal Success Book. You will feel both a sense of accomplishment, as well as a deep sense of satisfaction in the success you have achieved.
The very best part is that, at the end of the day you will not only feel successful and have solid accomplishments to demonstrate you will have also written and created your own Success Book and outlined to yourself your personal standard of success. Now you can use this as a guide to easily and continuously create future successes.
