One needs great effort to cease the unmanageable desire for food. Therefore, develop your fighting skills to beat compulsive actions. This battle is for freedom; deny failure. You can feel fervent emotions and resolve not to give in. Command yourself, "I refuse to surrender. I will not budge. I refuse to be defeated." During the emotional turmoil caused by allurement, enquire of yourself, what do I really desire? Eating to reduce stress is not what you want. What you really desire is to be at ease. You do not want to eat because you are annoyed. What you want is to resolve the issue. You do not want to eat simply because you are afraid. You need to face it and conquer it. Eating because of boredom is not what you want What you really need is, a goal that will create real action within you. Do not fight obsessive thoughts, but deflect them into productive thoughts and actions. Schedule mini-breaks to shift your mood and break cycles of obsessive thinking. Spend a few minutes doing something pleasurable to allow the emotions to fade. Play an instrument, get some exercise, take a brisk walk, or take a relaxing bath. Not only will you be fighting obsessive thoughts, but strengthening your life. Do not yield; everytime you do, the enjoyment will spawn an urge to do it again. Reaffirm to yourself that junk food is fake pleasure. If you ignore a craving, it will stop. If you become disturbed, inhale slowly and deeply, hold it for a second, and then release, think peace. Create the feeling of revulsion until you are nauseated: finger nails making a scratching sound, or a hair in your soup, Find what image best works for you. Use negative labeling. Junk food is solid forms of cholesterol and fat. Create your own negative labels for the foods you are moving away from. Play this mental procedure to end; look at the whole picture. Do not concentrate just on the pleasure, but rather be conscious of all the adverse effects. When you discipline yourself, you feel that something was denied, and feel deprived. Fight that feeling with the fact that you are content and happy. Challenge the emotion of loss. Remember the bad qualities of junk food. Do not eat them. Avoid triggers like donut stores and bakeries. Avoid hanging around unnecessarily in the kitchen or at the dinner table when you start to feel tempted. Your meals must be planned. Take fruits or vegetables for snacks. The first few days can be the most difficult. If you feel weak and not ready, it will be hard to discipline your thoughts. Discipline is a battle, and feeling toxic makes an reckless self-destructive feeling. It will vanish once the blood clears of toxins. Do the best you can during these times to remain resolute.
