New Natural Treatments For Panic Attacks

Years ago I suffered from panic attacks to the point that I started see a psychotherapist. He was very adamant that I take medication to alleviate the panic I experienced during these attacks. I was equally adamant in my refusal to take such medication.
I had seen too many people around me who had become zombies because of anti-depression medication. While they no longer felt depressed, they also no longer felt happiness. Or anything else.
Also, to me pills were not the ultimate solution. They may produce temporary results, but unless I really dug around and figured out what was going on, I'd never solve this problem. So instead of using medication, I sought out natural treatments. I will discuss some of these natural treatments with you in this article.
The first thing I did was read books about how to better handle panic attacks. The key concept I found behind each of these techniques was stress reduction. I immediately started meditating for 30 minutes a day, and I noticed that I had less panic attacks.
I also created a more soothing work environment. I deliberately decorated it with elements that immediately had a calming effect when I looked at them.
I also started running 30 minutes everyday. This is a perfect way to take out all your daily stresses on the pavement.
What I soon found out was that most of my panic attacks were caused because I had too much stress in my life. By decreasing my stress, I drastically reduced the amount of panic attacks I was having.
One key area of stress I had was over my health. I would work myself into a worry frenzy because I knew I wasn't treating my body right. And by damaging my body, I was admitting to myself that I truly didn't care about myself. This made me feel bad and made it hard for me to get out of bed in the morning. A perfect invitation for panic attacks.
So I started eating better to make myself feel better. Also, I went with foods with hardly any preservatives. I found that a natural diet made my body feel so incredible, that it was almost impossible to go into a state of panic when I felt so good.
There is no secret here. Treat your body right, treat your mind right and reduce the amount of stress you have in life. These are all natural treatments that do not involve taking any medications.
