  1. Pay attention to those trivial or unimportant things as they creep up on you and try to make you angry. Make a conscious choice to ignore them and save your energy to work on things that will give you satisfaction, joy and fulfillment.

  2. Practice these effective ways of managing anger, prayer and reading the Word (the Bible). Before responding to stressors, try taking three deep 20 second breaths and release them for another twenty seconds or get off the coach, go outside and get a breath of fresh air, pull some weeds or something.

Mingle with nature. Enjoy the sunshine, it is a good source of Vitamin D and it has other medicinal properties. This gives you enough time to think, before responding or reacting to a situation. I know it is not always easy to keep quiet or remain still in certain situation, but it is always worth a try and you may find that was the right thing to do.

  1. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Respect yourself and have respect for others.

  2. If you are sitting at a desk all day, get up occasionally, check your posture and there are exercises that you can do right in your office. Take five minutes and do it, you deserve it. Pay attention to the stress areas of you neck, shoulders and lower back.

  3. I Keep my Bible on my desk and read a Psalm, Proverb or just one verse. I also keep a hand held massager on my desk and massage my shoulders occasionally.

  4. Say to yourself: I am too blessed to be stressed, I refuse to own stress or any part of it. I get rid of stress as soon as it tries to creep up on me.

  5. Check your schedule. What do you do at the end of your day? Do you wine down and recharge with things or activities that make you relax? Do you take some time for yourself, a thirty minute nap, a relaxing bath or just read a good book and prepare to enter the night for a peaceful rest and a rejuvenating spirit when you wake up in the morning?

  6. Remember to begin your day with a prayer. Also read Psalm 37, it will give you comfort and help you de-stress.

  7. Try not to stay hungry or thirsty as these can cause your blood sugar level to fall and cause you to become angry. Anger sometimes makes us say or do things that we would not normally say or do. Consume adequate and nutritious foods and water that work at the cellular level.

  8. The bottom-line is that we do not have to accept stress in our lives because Jesus said:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:29-30).
