The 2008 Pathfinder is a 4-door, 7-passenger sport-utility vehicle, available in 11 trims, ranging from the S 4X2 to the LE V8 4X4. It is a mid-sized SUV that is suitable for use in suburban lifestyle or even off-road adventures. This improved version debuted at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. Great improvements with this car can be seen within the cabin and under the hood.

"The S 4X2 is equipped with a standard 4.0-liter, V6, 266-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. The LE V8 4X4 is equipped with a standard 5.6-liter, V8, 310-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 18-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims." Both engines use a five-speed automatic transmission.

According to Nissan, it is ‘the most powerful V8 in its class’. It can achieve a very high towing capacity with its big power plant which can reach up to 7,000 pounds. This is 1,000 pounds more powerful than the V6 version. Even though it’s a huge V8 under the hood, there is still enough space for easy maintenance

This version features large fender arches to promote the muscular look. The side steps are well-integrated and allow easier entry and exit for shorter passengers. Stylish wheels have always been a part of Pathfinder and this feature has been continued for the new version.

In its interior; every rear seat has an adjustable headrest that keeps a comfortable ride, but the view on the rear window is well kept-up for the driver. There are small pockets in the hatch which is convenient for storing first aid kits, and full-width net pockets for grocery items. There’s also room for some small gear or your personal accessories under the floor. Materials appear well-crafted and chosen; proofs for this is that it has perforated heated leather front seats and mercurial-looking pewter console trim.

Quoted from edmunds.com; "Pricing on the 2008 Pathfinder ranges from $25,700 for the 4x2 with V6 to $32,850 for the 4x4 SE with the V8. The Pathfinder SE off Road, available only with four-wheel drive and a V6 engine, is priced at $33,900."

According to car aficionados, offering the V8 on the Pathfinder is a good thing. It provides rugged performance and styling in a comfortable package. Some of the auto buffs may not need the huge size, but they certainly need power. Truth be told, not many can compete with the Pathfinder when the going gets rough, they noted.
