Acne can be really embarrassing, not to mention the scars that can result from bad acne. There are many ways you can get rid of acne scars, whether it be natural home remedies or other forms which I will talk about in this article.
The first method is called Dermabrasion. This method can be fairly expensive, costing between $1200 to 2000 per treatment. This method will get rid of acne scars mechanically by removing the top most layers of the epidermis. The skin is numbed, and then 'sanded' down to reveal new healthy skin. This procedure can be quite painful and some people have found that the scars re-appear over time.
Laser resurfacing is the next method I'm going to talk about that will get rid of acne scars. This method is very similar to the above mentioned dermabrasion method, except no sanding of the skin is involved. Instead, lasers are used. Again, this method is quite expensive and scars can reappear over time.
Another way to get rid of acne scars is by collagen injection. Collagen is injected beneath your skin to stretch it out, and to fill out the acne scars. This form of treatment lasts from 3-6 months.
Another method for how to get rid of acne scars, is chemical peels. This method involves chemicals being applied to your skin which will causes the outer epidermis to blister and then peel off, leaving you will new, healthy skin that will appear after a few days. I know it sounds kind of gross, but the method works. Chemical peels are not as expensive as dermabrasion and laser resurfacing, but can still cost up to $750 dollars per treatment.
If the above methods are too expensive for you, you can try other methods first. There are many creams out there that can help get rid of acne scars, such as vitamin E and creams containing cocoa butter. Regular use of these creams containing vitamin E and cocoa butter can help scars disappear over time. Another natural remedy you can try is using lemon juice. Lemon juice will lighten the acne scars, but it might not diminish them completely. Dab lemon juice on the scars and leave on for 15 minutes and then wash off.
Do you have deep acne scars? If so, then you might want to try this alternative method instead of the above methods. Subcision is a method that is used to get rid of acne scars when the scar is depressed. This depression in the skin results from scar tissue bands pulling down on the skin. During this method, a needle will be inserted to break up the scar and to allow the skin to release.
As you can see, there are many methods out there to effectively get rid of acne scars. Whether you just want to use a natural home remedy, or use other more effective and expensive methods, there are many that will work for you.
