You know the law. It prohibits you from using your mobile phone when driving. While this law is primarily created to protect your interest as a driver, sometimes it can be such an inconvenience – especially if you’re a very busy person with too many businesses concerns to handle. It is a good thing that you now have options when it comes to driving a car and talking on the phone. Nowadays, you can do these two things at the same time without breaking some rules.
It is very dangerous to drive a vehicle with a phone cradled in your ear. It is important to keep both of your hands on the wheel. So if you are able to do just that and still talk on the phone, you should be fine. There are a lot of Bluetooth headsets that you can use along with your mobile phone. Most of these accessories won’t cost you anything more than $50. You shouldn’t scrimp on these phone necessities if you really want to use your phone, drive a car, and stay well within the boundaries of the law.
However, it is quite alarming to note that those people who are driving expensive cars are the ones who can’t seem to understand that they can’t use their phone while on the road. They might think that they’re above the law or something just because they’re rich. However, a simple earpiece with a wire just costs $10 each. Surely, they’re not that cheap not to get these phone appendages if they can’t buy a Bluetooth earpiece, right? However, there may be laws against wired earpieces in some areas. Better find out if this option is acceptable from where you live.
There are also car kits that you can use in lieu of the wired earpieces and Bluetooth headsets. These hands-free phone car kits are meant to be installed on the car’s ventilators or dashboards so you can take your calls even if you’re on the move. This is the safest way to go if you intend to use your mobile phone on the car.
If you don’t have any of these mobile phone car accessories, then it is best that you simply turn off your phone the moment you take the driver’s seat. Turn it on only after you have parked your car properly. And if you do intend to use the phone while driving, be sure to inform the person on the other line. Do that to let him or her know that you can’t stay too long on the phone. Always keep your conversations short. And never start an argument on the phone if you’re driving.
Today’s technology allows us to do almost anything. But we shouldn’t abuse what we’re currently enjoying. Follow traffic rules all the time. You are going to need them to safeguard your own interests on the road. And more importantly, these same laws would definitely keep you from accidents and other unfortunate instances while on the road.
