Women are crazy about the natural scent of the men they love. I have heard stories about women who carried their husband's dirty clothes around. Not to wash them but to keep on smelling them from time to time. Does it sound like madness? It is usually common with pregnant women who are known to be overly attached to their significant others. This does not happen only when the woman is pregnant but when the woman is in love. The sexiness of a man's scent determines how desirable he appears to a woman. I don't like being the bearer of bad news but i like it when you are informed. According to a research carried out in New York, this appealing craze with women is subsiding due to their use of birth control pills.

The British researchers discovered that the contraceptives might affect the sexiness of a man's scent. The pills influence her to get attracted to a man who has almost the same genetic contents. In animals, men included, the sense of smell is a major factor used in seeking a compatible mate. Scientifically speaking, histocompatibility complex (MHC) major genes are responsible for individual's smell. The natural odor's matching technique works in a way that human beings tend to be sexually attracted to those who possess a different (MHC) from their own. This is crucial evolutionarily because the quality of offsprings increases as the genetic diversity also increases. There is a risk in producing healthy children since the introduction of birth control pills.

In the new study researchers were sad to discover that women who started using the birth control pills before marriage were at a higher risk of choosing the wrong father to their children. It is less effective for the women who use the birth control pill after marriage because they have little to lose since they have already chosen the father to their children. Perhaps this insight will help women to avoid pre-marital sex with men they don't intend to marry. It is harmful to them because they will end up being attracted to men who will sire unhealthy children. This is because with increased use of birth control pills their smell preferences change and so does the sexiness of a man's scent. They find men who have similar scent genes sexy.

The research carried out in the university of liver pool recruited 100 women between the age of 18 and 30 as the specimens. They rated the smells of five men by smelling clothes that the guys had put on overnight. The women then presented the results putting into consideration the sexiness of a man's scent and the intensity of the odor. The first session of the study was done before the women had used oral contraceptives. The second sniffing session took place after two and a half months of taking birth control pills. The mate preference changed over time to men who had similar (MHC) and mind you before the second session they had chosen different men who had dissimilar scent genetic component.
