According to a research carried out in New York, this appealing craze with women is subsiding due to their use of birth control pills.

The British researchers discovered that the contraceptives might affect the sexiness of a man's scent. The pills influence her to get attracted to a man who has almost the same genetic contents. In the new study researchers were sad to discover that women who started using the birth control pills before marriage were at a higher risk of choosing the wrong father to their children. It is less effective for the women who use the birth control pill after marriage because they have little to lose since they have already chosen the father to their children. Perhaps this insight will help women to avoid pre-marital sex with men they don't intend to marry. The research carried out in the university of liver pool recruited 100 women between the age of 18 and 30 as the specimens. They rated the smells of five men by smelling clothes that the guys had put on overnight. The women then presented the results putting into consideration the sexiness of a man's scent and the intensity of the odor. The first session of the study was done before the women had used oral contraceptives. The second sniffing session took place after two and a half months of taking birth control pills. The mate preference changed over time to men who had similar (MHC) and mind you before the second session they had chosen different men who had dissimilar scent genetic component.
