How To Achieve Your Goals
Today we will look into the kinds of resistance you can run into when executing your action plan.
Once you have set a goal and started on your way toward reaching it, the real challenge begins. Most of us have found ourselves in the following position at one time or another: we sit down on Monday morning with the planned calling list and action plan then, suddenly, panic appears just as we're about to begin working.
There is a rather simple explanation why we often get scared, postpone things or have other reasons not to work on what we've committed to do. It relates to the negative thoughts and actions that are weighing us down.
Let's look into your current (X) programming - that is, the one that exists in your thoughts, feelings and body language - and how it affects the possibility of reaching your goals. If you are satisfied with your current results, well then everything is fine and you do not need to read any more of this article.
But if you want to achieve new, more successful results (Y), then you need to remember how your (X) programming was created and understand why it hasn't completely transformed into a positive (Y) one.
Let's say you want to achieve a new big goal (Y1), and you have created an action plan and are ready to start on your journey to achieve all of your goals. Suddenly it seems like everything goes wrong. You feel depressed, sick or dismayed. At this point, most people give up their goals and return to their mediocre (X) programming.
What we must understand is that we are people of habit and most of us are not open to change. No matter how hard we initially worked on letting go of counterproductive thoughts and replacing them with positive ones, our whole system of feelings, attitudes and body language continues to radiate the (X) programming we started with. It does everything it can to keep you from making those changes permanent.
But life is always changing, whether we like it or not. So, why not decide to achieve the goals you are dreaming about no matter what gets in the way? It can be done.
The only way to obtain a permanent (Y) successful programming is to walk straight through your fears and the excuses that are keeping you from reaching your goals.
It might feel extremely unpleasant for a while, but when you notice that you are starting to achieve your new goals despite that unpleasant feeling, you will have developed yourself even further in order to create even more success.
Remember that success comes when you least expect it, when you are so close to giving up but walk that extra mile anyway. (Remember that Thomas Edison failed 9,999 times before he succeeded in inventing the light bulb.)
Always keep in mind that there will come a time - it will probably be a happy surprise - when you realize that you have already attained a measure of success and are self-confident about continuing to doing so. That's when you'll realize that you now possess your new (Y) programming. After that, it's time to take care of the next challenge and start the process all over again.
So, what does your week look like?
Do you have new challenges that will make you win big?
Are you prepared to pay the price to reach success like Edison did?
Do you want results that by far exceed the usual?
Are you prepared to walk through your fears?
Are you prepared to make your dreams come true?
Consider this carefully since there is a need for a certain amount of power and courage to create your dream life.
Assignment:
-
Identify your fears or excuses and write them down.
-
Decide to overcome them.
-
Perform the necessary activities to achieve your goal, even if they are unpleasant.
-
Don't give up!
