Can you recall the first time you tried to create a website on your own, and you had to invest both your time and money to either learn HTML (or some similar language) as well as some software editing tool to confidently generate your sites?

And as time went by, you soon realised that with a little bit of practice and effort you should be able to craft out your websites at a slightly quicker pace. Now it doesn't matter whether you're running a team of website designers or just simply trying to make a living through on-line marketing (aka, internet marketing), but I'm sure this would be the typical advancement curve for anyone out there.

Regardless whether you're generating a website for your organisation or for yourself, your primary aim is to ensure that a deliverable result is achieved at the end stage. This result could either be in the form of:

a) Sales through a targeted product

b) Capturing of potential clients for future prospecting

c) Creating brand awareness of your company and its line of products

For those of you savvy enough out there, you might also know that apart from trying to achieve any of the above 3 desired results, you can actually create additional income by monetizing your sites! Think of it this way: while you're trying hard to create the "ultimate" website or "ultimate" product in the hope that your targeted clients will visit or make a purchase, why not allow some related advertisements to be posted on your site to create an additional source of income for you or your organisation?

A typical example would be Google's Adsense. Upon registration, web publishers can actually paste a given code on your website so that related and relevant advertisements can start appearing on your sites (of course you'll have a choice to control where these advertisements should appear). It is not uncommon that even government organisations all across the globe are even capitalising on this additional source of revenue to possibly fund their advertising campaigns.

However, getting the whole act of incorporating all these revenue generating sources along with creating the "ultimate" website experience can be quite a mammoth task IF done manually.

What webmasters may consider is either to engage professional web design companies or outsource the whole marketing campaign to responsible individuals, thus allowing other efforts to be focussed upon. However, herein lies the problem: the exact look and feel of how you want your site to be.

No doubt time is considered saved, webmasters (ie, you) will not have overall say as to how your website should look and what contents it should specifically have. As such, software firms have been innovative in tapping into this potential gap by introducing website generation tools or software. And depending on your budget, you will get a variety of applications that may or may not perform to your specific requirements.

However, with careful research as well as proper fact finding and most importantly a trial test product available, this will alleviate your confidence as to whether website generation software is indeed suitable for you or your organisation.

But one thing's for sure, with the speed of on-line marketing efforts by almost anyone, a smart marketer or company will definitely leverage on the availability of such software.
