To understand the impact that affirmations can have on your life, you must first understand the basics of affirmations. An affirmation is a statement you make to yourself and it can be either positive or negative. Regardless of which it is, it helps to maintain your existing emotional state.
The things you say to yourself (your self-talk) is crucial as it affects both the conscious and subconscious realms of your mind. In other words, you listen to whatever you are telling yourself.
Because there is a tendency to listen to your self-talk, you can use that to change the way you think and feel. That sounds easy but it actually takes quite a bit of effort. However, if you master the art of using positive affirmations, you will notice yourself becoming healthier and happier.
The philosophy of using affirmations for personal growth has been around for many years and most people have been exposed to them at some point in their life. Although there are many skeptics, there are many people who believe in them very strongly and motivational speakers and life coaches still promote them.
Some of the things affirmations can be used for include:
• Remaining calm
• Finding clarity
• Staying focused
• Destroy bad habits
• Create good habits
• Attain a better life
• Attain goals
So, do you understand now what an affirmation is about? To put it simply, an affirmation is everything you think, say, believe and feel. Some people feel that affirmations simply don’t work for them but it is a matter of conflict between the person and what they are saying.
It is important to understand that we are all a part of the universe and affirmations relate directly to our energy of self and of the universe. In other words, our affirmations work based on who we are. That is, the affirmations themselves have no power in the universal scheme but you do have that power. Through your energy and actions, you influence the universal flow as it relates to your life.
If you use affirmations effectively, they change the way you think about all facets of yourself, your hopes and dreams, and your problems. You are then able to take the appropriate steps to manifest your needs and desires. They are an effective tool in changing the way you live your life but you must be patient. These changes wont happen overnight and the process in ongoing.
Amazingly, affirmations are one of the most overlooked techniques for personal growth and yet they are extremely powerful. One of the main reasons is that people don’t fully grasp the power of affirmations and how they work.
For your own sake, learn about the power of affirmations and put them to work for you. You will see changes in your life that will astound and inspire you.
