Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani popularly known as Valentino, born on 11th may 1932 in Italy, is a quite well known fashion designer. He initially started with Valentino SpA brand and company. His designing has a unique style to create an exclusive range of custom-fitted clothes {famously known as Haute Couture) and ready-to-wear fashion series.
The interest for fashion aroused valentine when he was still in middle school in Voghera. He then moved to Paris for continuing his career in Fashion line. He joined Jacques Fath and later on Balenciaga. After that he worked for part time with Jeans Desses where he made a number of sketches for Jacqueline de Ribes after which he worked with Guy Laroche as well. After serving Desses for 5 years he left for Italy and started up with his own fashion house in Rome.
Valentine met Giammetti, an entrepreneurial genius, who helped Valentino to concentrate on the designing creativity that lead the business brilliantly well. Valentino spent a lot in his fashion industry to the extent that Valentino fought bankruptcy as his father’s associate had pulled out of business. After all this, Valentino and Giammetti started their own company where both worked efficiently and they soon rose for fame and success in the international market during the early phase.
Valentino in his successful career designed and created evening wear collection with the most sophisticated dresses that are in a huge demand in the international market. The colorful and lavish styles of dressing are often seen in his designing. Valentinos designs are considered to be more conventional and straight as compared to the other famous and well known brands. He has an ability to blend elegance with beauty which is though inventive but still lacks modernity. His designs are mainly focused on women clothing which cater to the women belonging to a very high class society where it is quite impossible for the ordinary people to reach for. Thus his designs are only for women of the jet-set and the hi-fi world of glamour and glitz.
Valentine has always had a craving to target the high class people which can be easily seen through his creations. He was rather focused on glamorized style of the feminine. Thus it is recognized that there are no trendy and fashionable clothes observed in his collection as compared to other brand like Versace or Armani which have a wide range of the latest and the trendiest designs. Valentino’s concepts and designs suits the upper cream layer of the society and explains how the women belonging to that particular society need to dress up and behave in their high class society. In short, he fabricates to the typical woman of Hollywood style in 30-40’s. his taste of designing was appreciated by mythical stars such as Greta Garbo, Merle Oberon, Gloria Swanson and Joan Crawford. Lately, even at 70, Valentino still designed the clothes of his taste, as he did earlier in his creations. His creations and designs seemed outdated and old-fashioned for present scenario of the fashion world. it has become difficult for the rich class society for whom his creations and designs were actually meant for!
