Bubbly is an understatement when referring to the capital city of Spain, Madrid. It has a population of over three million people and their main language is Spanish. With its large population, this city is a big one drawing massive numbers of tourists coming to savour its rich cultural, historical and modern attractions.

Madrid boasts of extensive transport and communication network that includes roads, rail and international airports. These make the city readily accessible for visitors from all over the world as well as Spaniards from other parts of Spain.

Adorned with natural beauty, this city possesses a great atmosphere for a vacation. It stands out as a picturesque metropolitan area surrounded by not only landmark buildings but also lush green parks and spaces which blend well to form a lively city.

One of the greatest reputations held by this city is being the number one art museums destination in the whole of Europe. Madrid is home to the Golden Art, a set of three world famous museums namely the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornrmisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum.

Theatres also record a large number of visitors all year round. The cultural performances are a major attraction and the most popular are the orchestras. The Spanish Orchestra is particularly very popular with visitors and it has matched the demand as it plays every weekend, Friday through to Sunday at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica.

There are a good number of landmark monuments in Madrid and they include the Royal Palace of Madrid, Calle de Alcala, Catedral de la Almudena, the city hall and Palacio de Cristal among others. For a calm atmosphere, Madrid’s public pool will come in handy. It is located in the outskirts of Madrid and one can get there either by public transport or by taxi. The clock tower at Puerta del Sol is another major attraction in this marvellous city owing to the significance it holds especially on New Year’s eve when the bell rings and Spaniards eat twelve grapes to usher in the new year.

Like in the whole of Europe, football events are a major attraction in Madrid. Being home to among others the Real Madrid Football Club, visitors come in great numbers during such seasons as La Liga to indulge in the energy that football always seems to elicit.

Coming into Madrid, you do not have to worry about accommodation. There are a large number of hotels ranging from first-star, three-star to five-star. The Palace Hotel is the most popular in this city and there are practically a host of others scattered around the city. Indulge in Madrid’s cuisine from beautiful restaurants around the city. The most common delicacies include the Cocido Madrileno, (chickpeas with vegetables) Callos. Sopa de Ajo (garlic soup) and Caracoles (snails) among a variety of others.

Madrid’s night life is the most exciting yet. Visitors have joined in the partying spirit of the locals here who party all night long. The drinking and dancing is often coupled with home bands that perform in designated clubs as regularly as every weekend. Bilbao, Tribunal and Puerta del Sol are some of the clubbing areas that have visitors flocking 24 hours to have a great time.

There is so much to marvel at in Madrid from the natural attractions to festivals like bullfighting. This city is thriving both economically and socially with its large population and always ready to receive visitors in large numbers, who stream in from the world over whether its winter, summer or fall.
