wordpress-logo-cristal Wordpress: Your Gateway to the World of BloggingAccording to its official website, WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Since then it has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on hundreds of thousands of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day. Since its early beginning with b2/cafelog, which it succeeded, it has grown to become a very power, stable, user-friendly, quick install, and free system.
So how do you start blogging using Wordpress? There are actually two ways to do this. The first and most recommend is to signup to register at the Wordpress site and choose your very own blog name. The second, which is mostly for those who want to make it one step farther, is to download the Wordpress installer, and upload and set it up on your own web hosting service.
Registering is, of course, short and easy. And once you’re logged in you’ll heave you own Dashboard from you can create and manage as many blogs as you can handle. The Dashboard is very user-friendly, easy to understand and navigate. before long, you’ll find yourself immersed in modifying your site’s look and feel.
When you feel you’re ready to move on your own and discover more of Wordpress’ power, you’ll want to download it and install the script in your very own web hosting and with your own personal domain name. Most of today’s hosting services are actually loaded with a system called Fantastico where you can install various scripts and applications - including Wordpress - on the fly.
The best way to discover and enjoy this powerful tool is by trying it firsthand. It’s highly recommended!
