Your muscles tighten, your stomach knots up, your breathing quickens and you begin to feel nauseous when you feel stressed out. Often times you can’t focus on anything but the fact that you feel stressed. Everyone knows how consuming stress can be if they have ever felt it. Since everybody feels stress differently it is important that everyone knows a way to reduce stress and there are different ways to reduce stress. Controlling your breathing is a great and very successful way to reduce Stress.

Calm Down

You have to calm yourself down to reduce stress. Many have heard the advise that you should stop what you’re doing and count to ten when you feel stressed. There is a lot of truth to this technique even if it sound common place. This technique works in part because you are actually slowing your breathing down by stopping and counting. This is one of the key factors in reducing stress. You are calming yourself down by slowing your breathing. Your stress will just melt away soon after a few moments.

Deep Breathing

Next time you feel stressed you should try this trick and take several long, deep breaths. If you want to you can count but it’s not necessary. You can help yourself to reduce stress by slowing your breathing. You will actually feel less stressed if you breathe like this several time and eventually you won’t feel stressed at all.

Normal methods sometimes won’t get rid of stress if something causes too much stress. These stressors will require the help of a therapist or medication to go away. Don’t feel bad if you think you have a severe case of stress since many people feel this kind of stress. To rid yourself of this kind of stress forever you must seek help. However, those with normal amounts of stress can control their breathing and reduce stress to Help them feel better.

All aspects of our home lives, work lives, social lives and virtually every aspect of our beings are affected by stress. We can improve all these aspects of our lives and actually be happier by learning to control it. Therefore, learn to control your breathing and calm yourself down to reduce stress and you will be doing yourself a favor. In no time you will see that your stress goes away and you are able to focus on the things you want to.
