Job Video Game Tester - Video Games Jobs
Wondering How To Become A Game Tester?
If you are like me and have enjoyed video games pretty much all of your life, then chances are you may have been interested in being an at home game tester before. I've searched the internet every once in a great while in search for game tester work over the past few years and have never really found anything until recently.
Being a video game beta tester and beta testing games sounded way too good to be true. I mean, can you really get paid doing something you do for fun and for free?? Yup, I was skeptical too. I will explain to you about a place called Game Testing Ground where I found my first job as a game tester later in my article.
How Much Can Be Made As An At Home Game Tester?
Video games jobs can pay upwards to around $150 an hour for beta testing games. Sounds pretty ridiculous right? Now, it really all depends on the company that hires you and how much they are willing to pay you.
Why Do They Pay So Much?
Well it's because game tester work can be just that, "work." You have to be willing to sit in front of your TV for hours a day playing games that may not be quite finished or even appealing. You really cant spend your time doing anything else. Also, not many people have the skill for a job as game tester.
Why Do Companies Need To Higher You To Test Their Games?
Game producers and game programmers are more focused on correcting and tweaking their games. They need people like us to spend the time playing the games to discover glitches and errors in a game so that they can spend their time correcting these problems. They know all too well that the success of a game relies heavily on the amount of testing.
Games from the first generation consoles such as sega, atari, and nintendo were mostly failures. So many of them were absolutely unplayable and even unbeatable due to glitches and having been vastly untested. Companies nowadays want their games to be tested by large amounts of people so that their game will be successful. This is why they are willing to pay large amounts of money to an at home game tester.
