A UV Sanitizer ultraviolet light plays a significant role in pond algae control. An ultraviolet UV sterilizer destroys single cell algae water which is the main cause of a green pond.

It is important that you combine a pond filter with your UV ultraviolet light for a crystal clear pond. A UV sanitizer uses a UV light source, which is enclosed in a transparent protective sleeve. It is mounted so that algae water can pass through a flow chamber, and UV rays are admitted and absorbed into the stream. These rays destroy harmful bacteria and inactivate many viruses.

Performance can be impaired by a dirty quartz sleeve. Replacement sleeves are well known for being fragile, so take care when handling and cleaning it, make sure that you remove any stubborn dirt and lime scale from the UV sanitizer.

You should change the UV sterilizer bulbs in the spring. That should last you for the rest of the season and will ensure that it’s most effective against algae in your pond through out the height of the summer season.

UV ultraviolet light has been known for over 100 years as an effective method for inactivating waterborne harmful diseases and viruses. UV ultraviolet light when it is applied to the algae water at a specified intensity and length of time, rendering waterborne microorganisms microbiologically dead by penetrating the cell wall and affecting the microorganisms DNA such that it is unable to reproduce.

The string algae now not shaded by the green pond, is able to thrive unhindered in your crystal-clear, nutrient rich pond. Because string algae adhere to the hard surfaces within a pond water garden, it does not pass through the UV clarifier, and its growth continues unchecked.

Pond Lights can peak your creative abilities as well as add special effects to your pond. Lights can also extend the hours you enjoy your pond. With pond lights you can illuminate items you usually only see during the day.

Under water lighting is not essential but it creates a focal point of sight and sound. Subtle lighting can be used to light up a path or walkway around your water garden walkway. You can create remarkable effects for your tranquil space. You can illuminate your pond, stream and waterfalls with solar lighting.

Waterfall lights add dramatic effects to your waterfall and spillways when placed beneath or behind them, bringing a new dimension to your pond after dark.

The options for lighting include: Submersible lighting or underwater light, floating pond lights, fountain lights, and fiber-optic lights.

Submersible lighting may be single spotlights or multiple lights. You have a choice of colored lens or white lenses with the underwater light. You can get creative with the effects the submerged light gives you.

Floating pond lights offer the solar and low-voltage options. They are available in various shapes and sizes, including a floating plexiglass ball.

Fountain lights illuminate the water as it is ejected through a fountain head. Ejected water picks up the light as it cascades onto the pond. A fountain light comes in either white or color and they will give a fantasy effect to a spray.

Fiber-optic lights have the benefit that many lights can be generated and controlled from a single remote light source. The technology of fiber-optic allows up to 16 different light fixtures to be driven off just one light bulb. The inconspicuous light apertures at the end of each cable means they are easy to hide and position around the pond. The fiber-optic has a color wheel technology which means, that with just the flick of a remote control switch, white light can be transformed into a rainbow of colors that moves throughout your pond and water garden.

This dynamic lighting effort is something that cannot be achieved with standard pond lighting.

Outdoor Solar Lighting

Solar-powered lights have an internal battery that is charged by a solar panel during the day. At night, a photocell in the light switches the light on. To be most effective, these lights must be installed in direct sunlight, as their nighttime output is directly related to the power stored during the day. They are not as bright as low-voltage lights, providing more of a glow, and do have limitations in the winter months.

Seeing your every day pond, stream, and waterfall lit up under all the lights will give you the sensation of having walked into a magical, mystical, after dark wonderland.

You can have a tranquil space all of your own.
