Before you begin reading, the most important thing is what you get. Want to understand the general outline of a document? You just have to scan it, reading the titles and perhaps the beginning or end of some paragraphs. Want to deepen a theme? You will need to read more slowly to capture all the details. This simple decision prior to reading will help you set the pace and not spend too much time if it is not necessary.
Creating conditions
Once you know to read faster, you can block everything around you and concentrate on reading with ease. To improve reading, however, must create the optimum conditions relaxing, sitting back and away from distractions such as television, telephone conversations, etc.
Capturing text blocks
When children learn to read, read letter by letter. Many adults think that has been read it word for word, but must be read more quickly graduating to the entire block of text. It attempts to capture several words at once or a section of line. It is read by more than snapshots to meditate on every word. Apart from achieving a more rapid, this technique helps the eyes do not tire so much. If you train yourself to read blocks of text, the book leaves a bit. You can also concentrate in the center of the page and not move the view completely from left to right. The idea is that your peripheral vision will capture the words that are at the edges of the page.
Practice often
To read faster, you have to practice reading often. Go where you go, always carry something to read. You will be surprised how much you can move on to the bus waiting at the doctor's waiting room or between class and class. Use a marker sticker that lets you return to the exact line you have left. Read different kinds of books and articles, as this will increase your vocabulary. The more you expand your vocabulary, read faster, because you know the words that serve as a brake.
Use your finger or other object to get highlighting each line as you read. The exception: If you are trying to learn not to read, something you can use to guide the light forward. The idea is that the faster you move your finger or stylus, the faster you read.
