Things to Look Out For When Using a Doctors Excuse
A doctors excuse is a legal document that is used to excuse an employee or a student from office or school when they are not feeling well or if they are ill. There are several reasons why you need to check for completeness of information of a doctors excuse, but the most important is because there are a lot of fake or inauthentic notes offered online and free for purchase for all those who would rather pay and use a fake note than head the hospital or the doctor’s clinic to secure a valid one.
There are some things that make a doctors excuse authentic. First is the completeness of the information on the note. This information includes the complete name of the doctor or physician and his complete address and contact numbers. This is important for double checking or for future consultations. It may also be used by the employer to check if the employee really did see a doctor in case there are suspicions. Next is the date of the visit. This is validate the date of absence, showing that you have seen a doctor when you took the day off, indicating that you have a valid excuse. Another important thing to look out for is the patient’s name. it should be complete and written by the doctor followed by the medical certification. The medical certification contains the information on what was the cause for absence. It explains the patient’s condition or illness that required him to rest or take time off from work. Here, you will see the diagnoses, the prescription, when the patient is allowed and able to go back to work, and the conditions in which he can continue working, like a lighter load, or a change in schedule.
The doctors excuse is a legal document, as said earlier, and cannot be contested by the employer. If you are asked by your employer to perform a task otherwise specified in the note, they can be charged with practicing medicine without a license and will be liable if your condition or illness gets worse due to the task. On the other hand, however, for those who use fake doctors excuse, there can be dire consequences if you get caught. The punishment for students caught using a fake note can be suspension, failure from a subject and even expulsion. For those already working, the stakes are higher. They can be fired immediately from their job, and can be involved in a legal case for forgery if they are proven to have forged a doctor’s signature. These can cause him time in jail and large amounts of fines.
It is always safer to do the right thing. For some people, they would prefer the easy way out but then the punishment for this if they get caught is something they will regret for the rest of their lives. It is better to secure a valid and authentic doctors excuse or just file a leave without pay if you took a day off without actually feeling sick, than to spend lots of money on fines and time in jail if you get caught.
