Dressing well involves maximizing your attributes and minimizing your flaws, creating the best personal appearance for your body type and shape. If you are flat chested and shopping for a dress, you are likely wondering which styles would flatter your figure. You can maximize your chest by selecting the right shape, color and style for your dress. And, in some cases, you can cheat a little by leveraging a variety of modern inventions.
Creating an Illusion
If you want to create the illusion of larger breasts with your selection of a dress, choose the classic strapless style. In addition to selecting a strapless style, choose a dress with embellishment, ruffles, patterns or added fabric along the bust line. These items will enhance the appearance of your chest. In addition to the top of the dress, focus on a strapless dress that nips in at the waist line, focusing attention away from your breasts and onto the most narrow part of your body. Then go for high heels and a length that sits right above your knees, for an overall stunning look.
You can also create an illusion through the selection of an empire line dress. These dresses taper out past the waist line. No matter how big or flat you are, the shape of this dress will make you appear larger. If you choose an empire waisted dress with straps, choose thin almost spaghetti like straps for the best illusion effect up top.
The last style of dress to choose for an illusion effect is that of a bustier dress. Prada made this style of dress famous, but many designers have created similar looks. The fact that these dresses cinch in around your waist makes any bust line look larger. In fact, these dresses actually look better on women with smaller chests.
Display your Small Chest
If you decide to embrace your small chest, there are also dress styles that will flatter your current body type. One such dress type is the plunging neck line. Choose a plunging v-neck dress in virtually any color to showcase your small bust. These dresses were made for women will small busts. In fact, you could even take the sexiness factor up a notch and go braless! After all, there has to be some advantage of being small chested!
Ethical Cheating for Small Chested Women
If you just want to add that little extra to any dress, there are methods that can allow you to ethically cheat- adding volume to your bust line to deceive the naked eye. You can use push up bras to add volume and width to your chest. These bras come in virtually every color and style, making it fun to shop for that something extra in your wardrobe. And the best part is, no one will ever know you have one on underneath your dress!
No matter what size your breasts are, you will be able to find that perfect dress to accent your body and to either play up or play down your small chest.
