In this day and age mobility is paramount and our pace of life seems to be increasing every year. Everybody needs to be available at anytime and everywhere, a life without emails and internet seems unimaginable for most of us.

If you answer yourself a few questions truthfully, you will soon realise that you might be dependent on mobile communications yourself. How often do you check your emails? Do you have a profile on facebook or similar social networking sites?

There you go! Today, we all live a substantial part of our lives online. The internet, emails and social networking amongst many more are integrated in our daily professional and not less busy social schedules.

Not too long ago, this meant sitting in front of a grey, ugly and very slow box on an office desk. Who doesn`t remember their first PC connected to world via a sluggish dial up modem. We all needed to adapt to the wonders of the modern world of communications. For most of us, these days are only less than two decades ago, but to be absolutely honest – it feels more like centuries!

It was around the same time, when a relatively new and then expensive niche product set out to conquer the world. You guessed what Im talking about – the mobile phone! According to an 2008 UN study, today more than 50% of the earths population of around 6.6 billion people have and use a mobile phone. In the year 2000, this figure was only 12%. Even the most optimistic industry analysts didn`t predict such growth.

But back to todays online society! Not only is our pace of life much faster, but the technological advance over the last decades has been earthshaking, to say the least. Since the early 2000s the so called Smartphones are getting more and more popular amongst many of us. One of the earliest innovation leaders were the Nokia Communicator series.

Smartphones manage to combine all strong points of the internet and mobile telecommunications. The latest representatives are mobile phone, computer with internet & email, digital camera, mp 3 and video player, PDA and GPS navigation all in one handheld device. This multitalented gadget enables us to access near enough any desired snippet of information from anywhere in the world at any time.

An absolute prime example of a Smartphone is the brand new Nokia E 63. It combines all necessities of the modern and highly mobile user in one stylish little 126 g light handset. Nokias developers and designers have proven ones more, why they lead the field of mobile communications since the 1990s.
