Big car manufactures are now investing in billions to hit the future jackpot- an environment friendly hybrid car. All big brands have their own versions of hybrid car but still there are challenges in pick up and speed. These scientific marvels make use of both electric and gas power to make for a cleaner, more cost efficient, and environmentally friendlier car.
Hybrid cars utilize a combination of different technologies. Hybrid cars use an electric propulsion system together with of a gas propulsion system to great effect.
Earlier definition of hybrid car was a European car fitted with American mechanical components. Latest hybrid cars use electric power along with gasoline. Scientific researches are undergoing to improve the efficiency of battery used in hybrid car.
Hybrid car is good for your wallet as the cost of petrol, gasoline are getting dearer month by month. Moreover, technology of hybrid cars is also environment friendly. The popularity of hybrid cars continue to grow as more people begin to realize the many advantages that hybrid cars hold over conventional ones.
Features of latest hybrid cars are like smaller and more efficient engines, Regenerative braking, Periodic engine shut off, advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials. Periodic engine shut off is extremely helpful feature as it shuts off the engine temporarily while the car is slowing down. Regenerative breaking charges the battery while the car is slowing down. Light weight car body material and low-rolling resistance tires gives over all driving pleasure for the driver.
The government is also backing hybrid cars by offering several tax incentives and other benefits. In some states, hybrid car owners can drive their hybrids in the high occupancy lane, even if they're all alone in their cars.
Buying a hybrid car will inevitably cost more than a regular one. However, the money that is saved from the lower fuel consumption, along with the tax deductions will eventually make up for the extra cost of a hybrid. Those who drive frequently will be the ones that benefit most from this.
