Barrack Obama who is the current United States President accepted a six month old dog gift (Bo) from Kennedy and wife. Now, Bo lives at the White House. After Bo arrived at the White House, the Obama family immediately took the dog for a walk. Instantly, Bo was given a star like attention.
Bo is a name which originates from France. The name means handsome. The closest word to Bo is beau which means beautiful or handsome. Hence, Bo is a name which means handsome. Beau (French), Jamel (Arabic), and Yaphet (Hebrew) are dog names meaning handsome in other origin.
The American Kernel Club classifies Bo as Portuguese Water Dogs. The breed usually comes in thick black curly fur, but the dog can come in brown curly fur. Often, the white fur highlights the black curly fur. In the case of Bo, the white fur highlights the two front paws. It looks like the dog wears a white pair of boots. In spite of the thick fur, the breed is hypoallergenic. The breed does not shed as much fur.
The fisherman in Portugal teaches the breed to herd fish to the nets. The breed also serves as courier from ship to ship, ship to shore, or shore to ship. Locally, the breed is more common as fishing dog.
Surprisingly, the breed likes tomatoes. In the garden or farm, the breed will chow down on tomatoes. Do not be surprise if the tomatoes start to disappear in your garden. Unfortunately, the wife of Barrack plants tomatoes as a hobby.
Obama Family is the fourth owner of Bo. Before Bo lived at the White House, Bo lived in Texas. Then, the first owner decided to move to Washington, D.C. After, the dog stayed at the trainer.
The trainer encounters a slight challenge with the name. Bo sounds very close to a famous dog command which is No. In many occasions, Bo may not distinguish between the name and command. This can happens as Bo gets older. The sensitivity of hearing starts to fade away. Instead, the trainer may need to replace with an alternative command like Stop or Halt.
The paws are naturally web feet for the breed. Bo is meant to swim. Surprisingly, a trainer still needs to train the breed to swim. Although the breed is a great swimmer, the trainer still needs to train the breed to swim.
The breed likes water. And, the breed is home in water. Using water as inspiration, any owner can create countless good dog names. For example, the Arnon, Barid, Douglas, Ervin, Irvin, Irving, Moses, Ren, and Yaritza are dog names relating to water. Ervin, Irvin, and Irving are English names meaning green water.
Arnon and Moses are Hebrew names. Arnon means flowing water, while Moses means drawn out from the water. Moses has many variations like Moesha, Moises, Moselle, Moshe, and Mosh with Hebrew origin.
Yaritza sounds like Japanese, but the name is actually Brazilian. Ren is a Japanese dog name, while Yaritza is Brazilian name. Yaritza means water lady. The name perfectly fits for female breed. As for Ren, the name means water lily. To be exact, Ren means Lotus. It is a type of water lily.
Douglas is Irish or Gaelic dog name meaning black water. The breed is usually black in color. On a name with relation to water, Douglas is probably the most appropriate for the breed.
The Portuguese Water Dogs are great and fun pet. To choose a name for the breed is just as fun. Studying the history of the breed and character, you can find super good names for the breed. Way to go, Barrack Obama.
