Once becoming pregnant women are given a plethora of different rules and precautions they need to be aware of. Some of the things you may be told include you not being able to drink, smoke, and you need to eat healthier. Something that many women are unsure of is whether or not it is ok to use a massage chair when pregnant.
When going to retail stores that have massage chairs to sample out, you will see that it is many times prohibited for pregnant women. However, this is typically for liability issued as the store does not want to get sued for any complications that occur down the road.
What you need to understand is that the baby is completely wrapped in blood, bone and fluid. This keeps your baby well protected from minor things like a massage chair. Of course you do not want to be going on a roller coaster, but a simple massage cannot hurt. In fact, the vibration from the chair can be less intense on the baby than you walking around all day. You can get just as many vibrations from walking around.
In addition to a massage chair, another common question is whether or not it is ok to get a prenatal massage. After all, there is nothing more comforting and relaxing than receiving a massage. Not only is it ok to receive a massage, it can actually be extremely beneficial.
By getting a massage, it can drastically reduce the stress experienced during pregnancy. It will help relax the woman while alleviating some of the pains that may be felt throughout the process. It can reduce the discomfort and stress the pregnancy puts on the body and mind.
In particular, a prenatal massage will help to alleviate various back, neck and joint pain while reducing tension, fatigue and any headaches that you may be experiencing. It will also enhance your posture and reduce your blood pressure. These are all factors that can play into sleeplessness and pain.
It really does not matter whether you are given a massage by a partner, a masseuse, or a massage chair. It will all help support you emotionally while giving you the physical touch needed to relieve any pain and stress. It can ultimately enhance your self esteem while making your every day life far more comfortable.
If that were not enough, you will also find that a prenatal massage can prepare the muscles for childbirth and reduce any swelling in the hands and feet. This can lead to increased flexibility while reducing excess fluid retention as well.
All you need to know is not only is it ok to use a massage chair when pregnant, you can actually benefit from it greatly. The benefits are vast and the results are tremendous physically and emotionally.
