Even a certified landscape architect considers a lot of factors before proceeding to the planning of actual process of building a commercial landscaping design plan. Factors like terrain?s lay-out, climate condition, soil condition and costs are crucial to start planning the project. Without proper Landscaping Design plan, the landscape can be more work than it has to be and can actually take away from the beauty of your property. This article covers all aspects of do-it-yourself landscape design:
Preparation And Measuring Your Landscaping Plot
This can be intimidating to some people. The best way to do this is to make the measuring as easy as possible. You can get a plat map or site survey of your property from either your builder, developer, or at your local county records office. This is to-scale drawing plan of your house and lot. You already have a base landscape with just that piece of paper to work with.
Start designing.
Expand your vision and gather as many ideas as possible in designing your own landscape. A site analysis will not only generate great ideas but also eliminate overlooked elements. Using parts of all the good ideas you find is the key idea of designing your own landscape.
Master Planning
Using simple rough shapes to sketch and identify each are is your first step in sketching your plan. This trick is called by the designers as ?bubble graph.?
Keep two things in mind and draw the different elements of your landscape design. Consider the factors such as- how will you move through your garden to get from one place to another. Sketch them down, this is where you need to place paths or walk ways on your own plan.
For additional interest, you may make your paths curvy and not straight. Curves add a sense of motion and smooth, graceful, natural flow to the landscape. Remember that the edges of your paths can also be used as borders for flower beds and gardens and to separate different areas or themes.
The Master Plan
Now that you have the basics of your landscape design plan, you have to clean it up a bit and put it to scale. Measure everything on it and add details as much as possible to make things easier. This will serve as the blueprint for your commercial landscape design.
