One standard development that both men and women are able to have are stretch marks.
These are a kind of defect that will come about when the individual's skin is being stretched too quickly. It will commonly occur when the person has put on or lost a significant amount of weight in a short time period, has gone through a growth spurt, or has been working out and building their muscles at a quick pace.
Whatever the reason for why it has come, one thing is certain, we all detest it. There are several spots that are able to be touched by these marks. Where they will appear and how serious they are able to get will be determined upon the cause and how large the person got.
Stomach
The more common place they will develop is on the stomach. For women this often comes about when they have put on a large quantity of weight in a short period. When they are pregnant they are more vulnerable to the marks because their stomachs are stretching out at an alarming rate to make room for the baby. That is why they will spreadapply lotions on themselves to prevent them. Men can have them because they are obese.
Arms
Normally men will develop these marks on the top region of their arms right next to the armpit. This is ordinarily induced after they have been working out for long periods of time or because of a growth spurt. The muscles are working to form at a quick rate and the skin is elongating to permit the growth. Women may also have them here - but they are normally caused because they are obese.

The thighs is another frequent spot for stretch marks to produce. Both men and women are able to have them here because they have gained or lost a large amount of weight. Still, there are some women who will have a small quantity in this spot even though they have never been overweight. This could because the marks are genetic.
