It is surprising what lengths some men will go to in order to win themselves a date. Of 10,000 men surveyed, 5 of their techniques used to impress women proved more popular than the rest: male make-up, a dangerous hobby, waxing their body hair and the old cliché; buying a dog!

Male Make-up

Still a relatively new concept to the general market, the use of loose powdered foundation, clear mascara and lip gloss to help cover-up blemishes and improve your appearance has been used for many years by the film industry.

The intention behind using such make-up techniques is in no way feminine as many men are discovering. Instead of feeling self-conscious about their spots, scars and uneven skin, the use of these materials has helped hundreds of men to boost their confidence levels.

Dangerous Hobbies

This technique has been an aged old favourite for many years now and is still proving quite popular.

Whether they have opted to own a motorbike; race cars in their spare time; base jump off cliffs; free run between buildings or go rock climbing at the weekend… even the mention of having such hobbies sounds impressive, let alone actually doing them.

Waxing Body Hair

Bypassing all the usual orifices such as waxing your legs or your armpits, many men now feel that by having a hairless chest and back that they can look more attractive and muscular than if they just let their hair grow naturally.

Gone are the days when it was expectable just for women to look smooth and pristine, now it is expected that men too should climb into the waxist torture chair!

Buying a Dog

You have probably seen this one in all major chick flicks: the leading man winning the attention of his female character interest by having an adorable looking puppy, yet this technique does appear to work according to recent studies.

Enabling them to break the ice with women without coming across as pushy, too eager or too flirtatious; the topic of their dog helps provides them with the neutral ground work they need to initiate a conversation with confidence.
