I have always wanted a plasma/HDTV television set, preferably one with 1080p resolution, due to the increased picture quality. Not far from my house was a Fry‘s, a store that I consider to be one that has the best range of electronic appliances, including television sets.

The line of SONY Bravia has always been appealing to me, considering the fact that SONY always manufacture top-of-the-range electronics. I had in mind something in the range of 42 to 50 inches. I love watching my NBA games, especially now during the Finals. Nothing beats watching Kobe’s prowess in high-definition. Trust me, once you switch to HD programming you won’t look back.

I now get my HD programming from Dish Net Work. They have some of the best options. Take, for example, their TurboHD package. They have TurboHD Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Their most basic only starts at $9.99 a month but if you order Classic Bronze 100 (formerly known as America’s Top 100) you get TurboHD Bronze free for 6 months.

Anyways, back to my SONY Bravia. I finally settled for a magnificent 46-inch plasma screen. The technicians over at Fry’s installed it in my living room in no time. The following day I got Dish Network set up. I spent a good 20 minutes on the Dish programming page on their site choosing which package to go with. Seeing that I was now the proud owner of a 46-inch plasma it only made sense for me to complement it with some HD programming.

I therefore chose Dish Network’s "Everything" Pak (which has over 250 channels) How much for all of this ? $72.98 per month. Now that’s a great deal, if you ask me, or anybody for that matter. I also get movies and NBA TV, which allows me to follow my games. Too bad my wife isn’t an ardent follower of basketball. She prefers watching the Oxygen Channel, something I never watch !

SONY have really outdone themselves when it comes to making these high-end television sets that have changed the way we watch TV. Pop in a DVD and the image literally jumps out of the screen ! The highlights of my day is when I connect my BluRay-enabled Sony VAIO (yes, I love SONY products) to the TV and watch a movie. The picture quality is out of this world. You have to see it to believe it.

Bundle a plasma or LCD with the digital picture you get from Dish Network I guarantee you will be stuck on your couch. It’s a mind-blowing experience.
