We all know that when God created light on the first day of creation, he said it was good. After the second day when God created the seas, the sky and the earth, God said it was good. After the third day, when God created vegetation, God looked at his work and saw it was what? Good.

After the fourth day, when God created the lights in the sky to separate day and night, God saw his creation and said it was? Good.

I’ll bet you can guess what God said after the fifth day when God created the fish and birds and animals. He looked upon his creation and said it was: Good.

But when we turn to Genesis 1:31 we can see at the end of the sixth day, after God had created man in his own image. "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Not just good like the sun, the stars, the water, the plants or the other animals. When God created you, He blessed you and said that you were VERY good.

Very Good – beyond the value of anything else on earth. Priceless, set apart, and one-of-a-kind.

I heard a story about an old man who had a painting that had been hanging on his living room wall for as long as he could remember. He took it down to put it in his garage sale, and his neighbor who knew a lot about art told him it was a Claude Monet original! Can you imagine how that man felt, knowing that he had an original, one-of-a-kind, and priceless work of art, painted by a great artist!

Now take a look at yourself, and know that God, the greatest artist of all time, formed you as unique, priceless and set apart! You are priceless, simply because of the artist who created you.

You are priceless!

Created by God, in his image! You are a perfect, precious and one-of-a-kind creation.

You are a masterpiece. And this means that you are truly a piece of the master.

You are a perfect child of God. You may not believe it, and some of you may not feel so perfect – yet! But hang in there, God’s not done with you – He will continually show you who you are in His eyes as you keep your eyes focused on Him!
