The worlds of the MBA and hedge funds haven't suddenly disappeared, but they have clearly been diminished by the world money crisis. No longer are they the only opportunities for young graduates. People are once again understanding the need to thinking about straightforward online business degrees anew.
For many recent years, if you wanted to create wealth for yourself, you didn't start a business. You entered the investment world. You starting moving stocks around in tiny increments. You messed around with obscure percentages that had no connection to the market, because they'd been "worked over" so many times that they became something else entirely.
The Return to Real Business is Here
But for now, is that the road you want to take, still the street that the enterprising young graduate will take? Not really. In fact, we're going to note a big uptick in business degree courses--legitimate, start-your-own business. So this is the best period to get in on the ground floor.
Our best thinkers, the very people who would normally--if financial engineering hadn't changed everything--go on to commence successful companies after university, they've all just got done with different investment-oriented degrees that are no longer the best option in a financial system that has no time for them.
There is no Better Time Than Today
Simply put, there has never been a more relevant chance to be getting a business degree. There have been better times, obviously, but if you think back to the decade-long depression in the 30s, many of America's most reliable, durable businesses came out of the insecurity of that period.
So: if you've been thinking about a business degree, don't put it off until everyone is loaded with energy and the business world is for a second time overloaded with people. Layoffs have been at record highs for many weeks now. Hundreds of thousands of people, highly skilled people, have no jobs. You can take full advantage of this.
The Workforce Has Never Been So Plentiful: Take Advantage of It
When the turnaround comes, it's going to depend primarily on the strength of real business owners doing actual business, not just crunching numbers designed to make ridiculous amounts of cash.
So go: you're already looking up the chances of a business degree. Keep going. There's never been a better chance. The economy isn't going to stay in a recession forever, and when it soon gets moving, you want to be in the ideal place to take advantage of the benefits of your business. Research a degree, start studying, and help restart the economy!
