The weight loss battle is one that is fought by many all over the world and is easily one of the toughest fights you will ever have. Time after time the weight is lost and put back on in a matter of months and to make matters worse, many times you end up weighing more than you did when you began your weight loss program. Millions of people approach weight control, focusing on the symptom. The symptom being the weight itself. These people put all their energy into baking it off, working it off, starving it off, or all kinds of fad diets.

Without regular and daily exercise it is extremely difficult to lose weight. The trick is to stay motivated. Buy yourself sexy lingerie that is several sizes smaller or a pair of terrific hip hugging jeans and vow to get into it. Keep these items close to your gym equipment. They act as reminders and you will work like crazy to achieve your goal. These benefits come from flushing out all the crap that is in your colon. You will gain the energy because of this and your body will heal faster and better as well. Plus with more energy you will require less sleep, which gives you more time as well. We can all use more time.

This may sound too easy and too good to be true and it may not even sound like a real quick weight loss secret, but there's more to this. Lack of sleep affects cortisol secretion and cortisol is a hormone that controls appetite. If you don't sleep enough, then you keep feeling hungry even if you had a good size meal. Keep in mind that you cannot make up for the loss of sleep during proper hours by taking naps during daytime. It has been drilled into you to cut down calorie intake. You have been limiting yourself to having just two meals. But the size and portions have been enormous. This will cause you to add the pounds.

Water intake is also a good way of helping to curb your appetite between meals and also help you to eat smaller portions. If you keep your stomach full of water all day long it helps to trick your body into believing that it is full of food so the hunger mechanism is harder for the brain to detect. If you drink a couple of glasses of water before a meal you won't feel like stuffing yourself. Having the right mindset and attitude is the real secret of losing weight. Don't be intimidated by the people around you or your own fat! Get down to the real facts and be determined to tackle your problem with gusto.

You exercise a lot more muscles which means you tone more muscles. For example walking builds up you lower body muscles. While rowing gets your muscles in shape in the upper part of your body. Even if you only walk and bike, this works out the lower part of your body. Biking will work out certain small muscles that walking simple will not accomplish. The same is true of how walking can exercise certain muscle groups that biking will not accomplish.
