With the progression of time many variations came in the way, but the basic pattern of Nurse Uniform remained the same. Since inception, nursing uniform has undergone a sea change from the traditional white dresses to Scrubs of various colors and patterns. In these modern days the commercial healthcare sector demands stylistic and comfortable Nurse Uniform to best fit the professional environment of the healthcare facilities.
The History of Nursing Uniform: Let’s take a look at the history of nursing uniform. It was first originated from the nun’s habit. In the pre-nineteenth century the nuns used to take care of seek and malaise patients. As a result the traditional white colored nuns dress became the symbol of a caregiver to the ill people. It was Miss VanRensselaer of Florence Nightingale’s, first designed the original nursing uniform at Miss Nightingale's school of nursing. It was uniform with a blue outfit by that time. Scrubs of different patters replacing the traditional nurse dress in a fast pace. Nowadays the traditional Nurse Uniform is worn in the third world countries only.
What is a Scrub: A Scrub is a uniform designed in a simple way and to be worn in operation theaters. These come in different colors and designed in the moderately stylistic way. A Scrub is very different in comparison to comfort and looks as the white color traditional Nurse Uniform with a drab and uncomfortable in wearing for the nurses working in extended shifts in the hospitals. For the outdoor requirement the nurse requires to put on a red jacket over the indoor Nurse Uniform. It’s a compulsory dress code for all nursing stuff. If a nurse is found not practicing this mandatory dress conduct she must be called for a review.
