There is one interesting way to make money from home by venturing into the field of wholesaling.

Wholesaling is a fun and profitable way to earn money by becoming liaison between the product of the products or the manufacturers and the retailers. As a wholesaler, your job is to source the best products at the lowest prices around so you can grab those and offer them to the retailers at a higher price than what you paid for. That's how profits are being made in this field.

Decide on the Products

How do you know which products are high in demand? There are many ways to find out but two of the most popular platforms people search for would be the eBay marketplace and the Google search engine. Check out eBay pulse which lets you know what types of products that are in demand and searched by the eBay visitors. Google trends would alert you to the types of items and services people are looking for.

Wholesale Suppliers

The next thing to do is to find reliable wholesaler that you can get the products from and sell to those eBay merchants. There are many wholesalers around but finding one that is both reliable and you can depend on for quality and quantity can be rather difficult to attain if you are new to this business. You don't want to stock up on too many products when you are new as you may not have the large customer base to distribute to when you are just starting out.

Marketing

This is the most important step of selling! You need to know where and how to market to these eBay merchants if you want to sell wholesale to them. Traditional wholesalers don't advertise as much as retailers, they keep their presence guarded and under a cloak of anonymity usually to protect the interest of their retail merchant clients.

Delivery

The issues pertaining to delivery is important as well. You will need to know how you plan to deliver those goods to your eBay merchant base customers. If it is large in quantity, the goods may be considerably heavy. Plus, most eBay merchants would go for dropshipping rather than stocking up goods. So you might want to consider this as part of your marketing strategy as well.

Insurance

You need to know how you want to handle safety issues such as delivery failures and damages to your goods during transit. The goods that are being transported from place to place can get damaged through negligence, mishandling, bad weather or theft. There is no guarantee that it will reach the buyer safely once it leaves your own warehouse. So you need to be sure that you take the extra set to insure those packages before they leave your place. You don't have much luxury to afford losing a few consignments and not getting paid for them only because they didn't arrive at your customer's place. Also if those buyers did pay upfront, you would risk getting plenty of charge backs if those goods are lost during transit.

These are all basic steps to take once you have decided to proceed with a business supplying wholesale products to eBay merchants.
