If you are thinking of travelling to Mexico, you must visit Cancun. It is a destination that is favoured by many. Why, it is a place that is the favourite vacation destination of countless people from all over the world.
Cancun offers more than any other vacation spot in the world. It may not have the cultural and historical signs of the Mexican people but it is close the many places where the culture lovers would love to go. More over it is beautiful. Cancun, which is often called the Mexican Caribbean is a scenic city located on the Yucatan Channel.
Cancun offers more to see and do than any other place in Mexico. Created specially as a leisure spot, this place has all that a vacationer and traveller can desire. If you want to surf, sail, or even lie down and lie down in the sun on a beach, you must come to Cancun.
Of course Cancun offers much more than that!
Chitchen Itza, Mexico is a fascinating archaeological site which is just half a day away from Cancun, Mexico. You can visit the place, explore the ruins, and climb the structures which are called "Mexican Pyramids" in local parlance. You can even enter the pyramids, and see the sculptures. There is so much history to see. You can even stand where the human sacrifices took place. The interesting facts are given by the guides who inform you about the death games. Ancient basketball matches apparently took place where the stakes were very high. The losing team was put to death! There are sound and light shows in the nights where even the enactment of ritual sacrifices is staged for the tourists.
Xel Ha Nature Park is also very close to Cancun. This is a naturally insulated cove with a high sea bed, where you can safely snorkel with hundreds of colourful fish among the coral reef. It is a safe and secluded place and offers a fascinating and memorable experience.
Sleeping Sharks a rare sight that can be seen here in Cancun ! There is an underwater cave just outside Cancun that the locals call the & "cave of the sleeping sharks". Sharks are genetically designed to keep moving even when they are asleep because movement is required to keep the water going through their lungs for them to breathe. This cave has some naturally formed sedative inside it, and sharks travelling through the cave lose consciousness. It is an enthralling sight to see such dangerous and magnificent fish totally immobile at such close quarters. Nowhere else in the world can you see this, but at Cancun!
Come and see the Pink Sand, yes the sand of Cancun is pink in colour, and does not burn the feet since it reflects the sun. The roads are unique, built in loop lanes. There is no traffic jam and there are no traffic lights.
The water is lovely, azure blue in colour. The people are friendly, approachable and helpful. Mexico is a wonderful place and Cancun is its star attraction.
