Of all the courier jobs out there, pizza delivery must surely be the stereotype. And evidence of this can be found in the high number of movies including a pizza delivery scene. Whether its horror, comedy or romance, pizza delivery boys take first place when it comes to courier workers starring in movies.

#1 There’s Something About Mary

The pizza boy in this movie does nothing to promote the name of courier workers out there. Played by Lee Evans, this pizza boy’s role is to stalk Cameron Diaz, and he comes up with an elaborate lie about being an architect in the hopes of winning her heart. But his twisted plan fails, and his courier job is revealed in the end, along with the other elaborate lies he has spread.

#2 Home Alone

In this children’s adventure movie, Kevin, the lead character, decides to order pizza when home alone. Afraid that the pizza boy would be more interested in the fact the Kevin is home alone than with his own courier job, Kevin develops an elaborate plan to create the impression that he has company, playing a scene from a gangster movie which ends with the line ‘Keep the change, ya filthy animal.’ This plan is devised to scare the unsuspecting courier worker, getting rid of him before he works out Kevin is alone.

#3 Spider Man 2

Spider Man himself is a pizza delivery boy, giving back some credit to courier jobs. Peter Parker’s disguised life is that of pizza delivery, bringing him back to the level of ordinary people. This movie illustrates the way in which ordinary jobs do not define people, and a person is so much more than their job title.

#4 Toy Story

When Buzz and Woody find themselves abandoned at a gas station, they hatch a cunning plan involving a courier worker with whom they plan to hitch a ride. Leaping on a Pizza Planet delivery truck, they manage to catch up with Andy, narrowly avoiding losing him forever.

#5 Toy Story 2

Buzz and the Toy Story crowd take their plan one step further in this movie, and this time they steal the Pizza Planet truck from the poor unsuspecting courier worker, so that they can get to the airport in time to rescue a distressed Woody.

#6 Fast Times at Ridgemont High

This 1982 film features Sean Penn, who plays Jeff Spicoli, a somewhat rebellious school boy. Jeff uses courier work to his advantage, realising that he can simply get what he wants delivered to him even if he is trapped within the school grounds. He orders pizza which is delivered to him during Mr Hand’s class, an ingenious way to get pizza at school while simultaneously infuriating school staff.

#7 Firewall

Many horror movies use criminals disguised within courier jobs, giving them easy access to victim’s houses as they willingly open the door. Harrison Ford stars in this movie, where his family orders pizza, only to find that by opening the door to the pizza guy, they were unknowingly letting a kidnapper in, who was to hold the family hostage.
