The education received in Australia and the degrees, diplomas etc earned here are recognized worldwide. Australia is well connected to all countries in the world especially Asia and South Pacific. The multi-cultural society in Australia makes it very comfortable for students coming from diverse backgrounds to settle down here and assimilate in the Australian society.
The country offers equal opportunities to students coming from English and non-English speaking nations. The beautiful environs of Australia give students a plethora of opportunities to learn and get exposed to a diverse culture. The lifestyle is healthy and relaxed. Financially too, Australia compares favourably with other countries that offer a similar standard of education.
The Australian universities are well-equipped and quite advanced infrastructure-wise. Most universities in Australia are looking to internationalise their campuses by various student and staff exchange programs. Today, Australian universities enjoy an envious reputation in other countries. Most of the universities rank very high and offer all sorts of facilities and technologies to students.
Students can apply to courses on both under-graduate and post-graduate levels in Australia. At the post graduate level, there are degree courses and many professional diploma and certificate courses. To get admission, Australian universities conduct tests and gauge students’ aptitude. Students with quick grasp and understanding of concepts are preferred as they are expected to participate in class discussions class discussions and raise questions. Universities also offer assistance and counseling to students to develop effective study skills in them. Each university has its own test and assessment criteria to take students in. Sometimes, students are taken in on the basis of their existing qualification for certain courses. While applying, it is advisable to apply to more than one university to ensure admission as the admission system is highly competitive.
Most universities in Australia have a course schedule based on semester system. Generally, the session with the first semester begins in mid February and ends in late June. Second semester starts in mid July and ends in late November. Summer break is given during December to January. There are also mid semester breaks that occur during both semesters in the academic session. This timing is the same at public universities but in the private universities, it may vary slightly.
With a qualification from an Australian university, a student can hope to get a good head start in professional life. Sometimes, students take up part time jobs in Australia to fund their living expenses. The complete education bill cannot be funded with part time jobs so you need to have a dedicated fund set aside to sponsor your education in Australia while a part-time job can provide the extra cushion.
