One makeup that a lot of women don't know how to handle is the eyeliner. Just look around you and you will see that many women look fiercer, out of style, or simply untidy whenever they use eyeliner. Do not commit the same mistakes that these women are guilty of; read on and learn how to use this makeup accessory more effectively.
Types of Eyeliner
Pencil
The most popular type of eyeliner is the pencil. You probably have seen and used this one. The pencil eyeliner is very easy to use and quite versatile.
Felt-tip
This is another type that is easy to use. A felt-tip liner is sort of a fusion between a liquid and pencil eyeliner. It's got the ease of application of a pencil liner and the consistency of the liquid type.
If you are looking for a bolder look, no matter what your complexion you buy a darker eyeliner color and instead of stopping the line ¾ of the way across the lid, going all the way across from the inside corner to the outside corner can create the dramatic look you are looking for that special night on the town. By combining this dramatic eyeliner technique with the smoky grey or black eye shadow across the liner you added as the crease of your eye lid you have created a simple and dramatic look for any event.
Tightlining , as the name suggests, involves lining your eyes with eyeliner tighter than regular (from the top) applications of eyeliner. With tightlining, the eyeliner is pushed into the lashes, creating a far more natural look.
If you want to take advantage of this beautiful eyeliner, then you'll benefit from these tips:
1.Line your eyes like you normally would. Just like black, brown or grey eyeliners, you can use white eyeliner to highlight your eye on both the top and bottom lid. This does give a very noticeable cosmetic look though, so this is best left for the brave.
2.For brighter, larger eyes, line just the bottom lid. When you're doing your regular makeup look, even with black eyeliner on the top lid, add a bit of white to the inside of your lower lid. This will be barely noticeable and will give your eyes a bit of a pop.
3.Layer eyeliners for an interesting effect. You can create a new look by first lining your eyes with thick white eyeliner and then going over it in a thinner, darker color, such as black or blue.
When you are attending a festive evening event and experimenting with how to wear eyeliner that is more exaggerated than what you normally wear consider the color of your liner. Using different eyeliner colors can add a glamorous element to your makeup. They are fun to apply and they change your look instantly. Deep blues, purples and even greens can give your eyes a striking look. Shimmering deep bronze is a beautiful color which works well for all eye colors. If you need to make the line darker then add an additional coat on top of the first one when it has dried. It gives your look more intensity.
