I just got off the phone with a friend (a consultant in Hawaii) and we had a rather heated debate over what the best blog softwares were!

He was adamant that B2evolution was the best stuff out there. He said that it was wonderful for SEO and was super easy to use. I guess he had set some clients up on it and it was working well for them.

Me, I love WordPress. There really isn't any other way around it! I've been using WordPress for the past 4 or so years and have built everything from content management systems for multi-million dollar organizations to Twitter-like sites and contact management applications.

On top of that, WordPress can be transitioned over into membership sites, multimedia sites and all kinds of other things... It is, in my opinion, the best blog softwares on the planet.

To me, WordPress is really just a shell. There are tens of thousands of templates and themes available so changing the design of your site is as easy as pressing a button and maybe tweaking a couple design elements.

If you're looking for something a bit more professional, there are all sorts of Premium WordPress themes available too!

The best part about using WordPress on your blog is the plugins, though. Honestly, if you have an idea about what you'd like to use your blog for, I can almost guarantee there's a plugin for you out there.

There are SEO plugins, email newsletter plugins, invoicing plugins, and tons more. In fact, on one of my sites, I have over 40 plugins installed doing everything from sending my podcast to iTunes and managing my signature tab on my articles!

If you're still undecided, do a quick Google search. I'm sure that you'll soon find that WordPress is the absolute best choice out of all the blog softwares.
