Healthy skin is much sought after by many people. If you already have healthy skin, don't take it for granted. Put in the time and effort to maintain the balance of your skin.
By nature, skin can take good care of itself. There is a layer of natural oil on the surface of the skin, which helps protect it from the elements of the harsh environment. This also helps prevent the skin from getting too dry, which can cause skin problems.
If your skin is too dry, it may peel and crack. If it's too oily, you may have to deal with a pimple outbreak. These are all signs that the the natural balance of the skin is upset, and there is a need to do something about it.
The balance of the skin can be upset by many different factors. For example, over exposure to the sun may cause the skin to become dry and brittle. Many people who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle tend to face such skin problems. Then there are those who suffer from oily skin problems due to genetics. They have naturally oily skin and the excess oil needs to be removed on a consistent basis.
For the fortunate group of people who enjoy natural healthy skin, they can still find themselves with damaged skin as the balance can be easily upset when skin exposed to dirt.
Fortunately, lots of research has been done on how to protect our skin. In the market today, you can find many different skin products, each with its own unique purpose. Traditionally, skin care products are only meant to clean and moisturize our skin. Products today can go as far as removing dead cells and skin and helping in skin regeneration.
When skin is exposed to the environment, it tends to break down, leaving dead cells and skin on the surface. Skin regeneration products can help remove the unwanted substances and leaves the surface looking young and renewed.
The complete skin care system consists of 6 components.
-
Cleanser - You use cleanser to remove all dirt and grime on your skin. This is the most basic component. It is a must-have, even for men.
-
Toner - A toner helps to restore the pH balance of the skin. Immediately after using the toner, you will feel that your skin feels tighter and smoother.
-
Moisturizer - Not everyone needs to use moisturizers. If you have naturally oily skin, you must avoid using moisturizers. However, many people do need to use such products because skin tends to become dehydrated after being exposed to the environment for long hours.
-
Masque - Such products can help to get rid of harmful bacteria on the skin. Leave it on for about 20 minutes or so each day before going to bed.
-
Night renewal - Usually, younger people tend to regenerate skin quicker. The skin regenerator is known as CoQ10. CoQ10 is produced by the body, but as the body ages and matures, the level of CoQ10 drops. This can be replenished by using night renewal products.
