It’s the season for air shows and event planners all over the country are scheduling and planning exciting air show events. For anyone who hasn’t been to an air show, it’s an event where aviators display their flying skills and the capabilities of their air craft in what is known as aerobatics. These events bring in huge crowds of people and have to be thoroughly planned. As with any big event, crowd control is a necessity. Event planners go through great lengths to ensure quick and easy entrance for all patrons. Air shows can be tricky to plan, as priority staff need to be able to control entrance into the air show Chalets, handle alcohol concession lines, and make sure they can distinguish which guests have day passes vs. multi-day admissions, as well as everyday crowd control. While this can seem like a lot to handle, using wristbands can greatly reduce these stresses.

VIP Access

During air shows, many times air show Chalets will be set up across the grounds. These are basically VIP hospitality tents that are often used to entertain clients, employees, or even friends and family. These tents allow for a premier viewing of the air show as well as private seating. With such an enormous event, it’s very difficult to be able to differentiate between basic air show goers and those designated to the VIP area. With custom wristbands, you can easily color code or print text or logos on the wristband to signal Chalet access and hand them out to your priority guests. This is an easy way to keep track of your guests, as these tents can hold 150-300 people and the Chalet host will have peace of mind that access is controlled to permit only authorized guests.

Alcohol Concessions

At any large, outdoor event, the line to purchase alcohol can be never ending. For quicker service and increased spending, age identification wristbands should be used. Air shows cater to all ages and generally it’s a family event so it’s critical to verify the age of patrons who purchase alcohol. Using wristbands can help speed up the process. Simply check patrons' IDs once upon their first alcohol purchase and then apply the non-transferable wristband to approved patrons. Your servers can then quickly identify who they can serve without re-checking ID each time.

Crowd Control

This is another high priority on any event planners list. Outside events are usually even harder to handle crowd control at as they typically aren’t fully enclosed. That’s where wristbands come into play. The security on staff surveying the lot can easily look down at any guests’ wrist and immediately see a bright colored ID wristband. This will definitely help any and all security measures. Past trying to identify paying guests vs. non paying entrants, security also needs to be able to distinguish between patrons with a day pass and those with a multi-day pass. With this mass of people at an outside event, this can get tricky. However, wristbands can be easily color coded so security can identify guests trying to use their one day pass to enter the event again.

Above are just some of the main priorities for any event planner. However, spending the extra money on custom wristbands to differentiate the tiers of guests at an event this large can save everyone a headache, as well as a lot of time and money.
